Добрый день!
Сегодня мы разберем одно из демонстрационных заданий ЕГЭ части Listening, доступных на fipi.ru
Так как демо файлы не имеют официальных названий, я буду называть его «Environment Issues», так как люди рассказывают о волнующих их проблемах экологии.
Для самостоятельной работы я подготовила два .pdf файла:
Environment_issues — текст задания с выделенными разными цветами ключевыми словами каждого высказывания.
Environmental_issues_transcipt — текстовая запись аудио с выделенными соответствующими цветами предложениями/фразами, указывающими на высказывания, с которыми их необходимо соотнести.
Аудио файл доступен на официальном сайте.
Немного позже мы подробнее поговорим о стратегии и тактике выполнения заданий типа Matching (соотнесение), но сегодня я расскажу о порядке самостоятельных занятий при подготовке дома (не стратегии на экзамене):
- Внимательно прочитать высказывания, вникнуть в суть, перевести, если потребуется.
- Отыскать ключевые слова/фразы в каждом из них. Подчеркнуть их.
- Попытаться предсказать, каким образом то или иное ключевое выражение может быть перефразировано (оно, скорее всего, будет перефразировано), на какие дополнительные подсказки можно опираться (об этом подробнее ниже)
- Прослушать запись один раз, делая черновые пометки. Если не уверены в ответе, укажите два/три варианта, не оставляйте место пустым. Заметьте, что одно высказывание должно оказаться лишним.
- Прослушать запись снова, обращая внимание на то, как были перефразированы выделенные вами ранее ключевые фразы (очень полезное упражнение. Прослушивая запись в третий раз, вы можете останавливать аудио и выписывать их в тетрадь). Выбрать окончательные варианты — строго по одному.
- Проверить себя по моему tapescript с цветовыми кодами. Удостовериться, что понимаете, как именно данная фраза указывает на соответствующее высказывание. Если есть необходимость, перевести.
- Выписать слова/фразы, относящиеся к тематике Ecology/Pollution/Environment в свой экзаменационный Dictionary. Как, вы не ведете экзаменационного словаря? Это надо срочно исправлять! Следите за обновлениями на данном блоге и я расскажу вам, как это грамотно сделать.

You are going to give a talk about environmental problems. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes (10–12 sentences). Remember to say:
— why people worry about environmental problems nowadays;
— what the most serious environmental problem in the place where you live is;
— what young people can do to improve the ecological situation;
— what your attitude to environmental problems is.
You have to talk continuously.
Now I’m going to talk about environmental problems.
To begin with, I’d like to say that more and more people are getting worried about environmental problems nowadays.
The Earth’s climate has already changed significantly. A lot of people know about the global warming and the serious complications it has such as droughts, floods, hurricanes and just the radical climatic change in some particular areas. The climate should make people think more about our lifestyle and our inheritance for the future generations. Young people like Greta Thunberg try to draw attention to some ecological problems and help to save the planet for the future.
Saint Petersburg also has some environmental problems. There are different kinds of environmental pollution like air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution here. Woods around the city are full of used plastic bottles and cans. Such litter also can be found in various rivers, channels and lakes. Road traffic, airport, railroads, manufacturing plants, construction and demolition also cause noise pollution. People say that the latest is the attribute of a big city life.
Everyone can contribute in our environment. We can try to cut down on our consumption, separate waste and do not waste water while brushing our teeth or washing the dishes. When we are aware of what we can do we can try our best and make a difference.
That’s all that I wanted to tell you about environmental problems.

| Some people say that damage to the environment is the biggest problem facing the world. However, other people say that there are other problems that are more important. | |

What is your opinion? Do you agree with this statement? |
Some people think that environmental problems are the most dangerous whereas others don’t agree.
I think that nowadays environmental catastrophe is the biggest threat. First of all, global worming can bring us a lot of troubles. If the ice melts, a lot of countries will be flooded. Second, Ozone holes can cause the death of a lot of lands. Also bad food, air and water can be the reason of various diseases.
At the same time there are people who say that overpopulation, lack of food and nuclear war can be even more dangerous.
In my opinion these people have a point. These threats can kill our planet too. Nevertheless, they are easier to control than environmental problems. Nuclear moratorium, new technologies allow us to solve these problems.
In conclusion I’d like to say that if we weigh all the facts that say that danger to the environment is the biggest problem against the ones that support other threats, we’ll see that the facts that support the statement outweigh those against.

Energy and environmental problems are closely related, since it is nearly impossible to produce, transport, or consume energy without significant environmental impact. The environmental problems directly related to energy production and consumption include air pollution, water pollution, thermal pollution, and solid waste disposal. The emission of air pollutants from fossil fuel combustion is the major cause of urban air pollution. Diverse water pollution problems are associated with energy usage. One major problem is oil spills. In all petroleum-handling operations, there is a finite probability of spilling oil either on the earth or in a body of water. Coal mining can also pollute water. Changes in groundwater flow produced by mining operations often bring otherwise unpolluted waters into contact with certain mineral materials which are leached from the soil and produce an acid mine drainage. Solid waste is also a by-product of some forms of energy usage. Coal mining requires the removal of large quantities of earth as well as coal. In general, environmental problems increase with energy use and this combined with the limited energy resource base is the crux of the energy crisis. An energy impact assessment should compare these costs with the benefits to be derived from energy use. (Source: RAU)

In recent years the number of environmental problems has increased greatly. One of the most dangerous problems for our planet is global warming which means that most climates all over the world are changing and getting warmer. It happens because we burn too much petrol resources, such as oil and coal, and the Earth heats up. This process can cause melting of the polar ice and the sea level rising in the future. If the climate changes there will be floods, heavy storms or severe droughts in different areas of the world. Cutting down on exhaust fumes from vehicles could help solve this serious problem.
Our planet is overpopulated, that’s why we are using up our natural resources – they are not endless. So the scientists have started looking for some alternate forms of energy such as water, wind, sunlight and even tides. These resources are clean, natural and unlimited. I’m glad that modern automobile industries make hybrids which use electric or solar energy instead of petrol. It would definitely help protect our environment from pollution.
There are different kinds of environmental pollution: air pollution, water pollution, land pollution. Sadly, not all human beings realize or admit that we are the ones who cause these problems and we should be the first to stop them and protect our environment. Because of the industrial revolution the air is polluted with awful chemicals; seas and oceans are poisoned with oil spills. Many rare species of flora and fauna are threatened with extinction.
We should be proud to live on our wonderful planet and understand that the consequences of pollution might be terrible and affect us and our children later. We should start recycling things made of glass, paper, plastic and aluminium. We should stop smoking and plant as many trees as we can because they can give us more oxygen. We need to drive less and use public transport in order to reduce fuel burning. We are responsible for the situation.

В последние годы число проблем окружающей среды сильно возросло. Существуют разные виды загрязнения окружающей среды: загрязнение воздуха, воды и почвы. К сожалению, не все люди осознают или признают, что именно мы создаем эти проблемы, и мы должны быть первыми, кто остановит их и защитит наше окружение. Из-за промышленной революции воздух загрязнен ужасными химикатами; моря и океаны отравлены разливами нефти. Многие редкие виды флоры и фауны находятся под угрозой вымирания.
Нам нужно гордиться тем, что мы живем на нашей замечательной планете, и следует понимать, что последствия загрязнения могут быть страшными и воздействовать на нас и наших детей позже. Нам нужно перерабатывать изделия из стекла, бумаги, пластика и алюминия. Нужно бросать курить и сажать как можно больше деревьев для того, чтобы они вырабатывали для нас больше кислорода. Мы должны меньше водить машины и стараться пользоваться общественным транспортом, чтобы снизить количество сжигаемого топлива. Мы ответственны за ситуацию.

Actually, I think people can protect the environment by recycling more. They should also make a habit of it because it’s very useful. When something is reused, it doesn’t contribute to polluting the world. Personally, I believe that school is the best place for people to learn about environmental protection because if people start doing things when they are young, it’ll become a long-life habit.
