Some people say that traveling abroad helps to understand one’s own country, whereas others believe that in order to better understand one’s country better people should not go abroad.
In my opinion in order to understand something better one should be able to compare it with something else, and countries are no exception. It is a general principle and I support it. First of all, when a person travels abroad he or she sees the differences in other countries compared to their own ones. For example, something that people took for granted in their home country suddenly becomes very valuable in another country. Second, people go to see different cultures and it makes them think more about their own because comparison is a part of human nature. For instance, a person cannot say if one thing is better than another without comparing them.
At the same time some people say that one should learn more about their own country by not going anywhere. One should visit all regions of his or her country first before going somewhere else. The more places in the country they visit, the better they understand it.
I cannot agree with the second opinion mentioned above for a particular reason. Comparison is a basic principle of every human’s understanding of the world. No matter how long a person studies something they will never get to the depth of it without seeing different versions of what they are studying in its home environment.
In conclusion, I would like to say that enriching one’s knowledge about their county by traveling abroad is a very effective and efficient of getting knowledge. When people compare architecture, tradition, art, music, philosophy and religionsof other countries they get a better understanding of their own country.

I strongly believe that travelling around the world develops the mind. Firstly, when people visit another country, they learn a lot about its culture and traditions. And this enriches their view of the world. Secondly, travelling gives an opportunity to acquire a foreign language through communicating with the locals. Thirdly, having set a foot into a new place, one has to be able to find his way and not to get lost. Such orientation exercise greatly improves one’s intellect.
Yet, some claim that travel is a waste of time and money. They are convinced that you don’t have to go overseas to become smarter. All sorts of information can be found in books nowadays. Moreover, those people say that going abroad is too expensive. It’s much wiser to invest your money in some training.
However, I don’t agree with these opinions. Books can never replace travelling. As the saying goes, “Better to see once than hear a hundred times”. As for the high cost, there is a wide variety of agencies today which offer tours for all kinds of budget.
In conclusion, I consider travelling a powerful way to broaden the outlook for those who are eager to learn.

Sometimes choosing a partner for travelling can be tough. Many people believe that it is more convenient to have a trip without friends or family, whereas others claim that it is risky and boring.
From my point of view, travelling alone is rather appealing. To begin with, it is cheaper as one can find a plane ticket or book a hotel room with a huge sale which allows to save a fortune. Travel agencies usually offer lower prices to those who travel by themselves as otherwise it brings no progit. Moreover, people are free to choose any activity they want depending on their hobbies and interests. For instance, not everyone is keen on art and that is why some travellers cannot visit an art gallery but this problem can be easily solved while having a trip alone.
However, some people are convinced that it is much nicer to have a partner during a journey. In their opinion, travelling alone is dangerous as there is no one who can help. They think a traveller can get lost or get into trouble.
I disagree with this idea because there is always an opportunity to ask locals for help. They know their city and can show a right direction to the certain place. In addition, there are many useful apps which work without the Internet.
In conclusion, I would say that everyone chooses the option which is good for them but I still prefer travelling alone. It is important to remember that one of the essential parts of having a trip is a person’s comfort.

Some people like to travel by plane, because it is the best way to get to a foreign country fast. But others prefer traveling by train. They say that this method is more convenient and cheaper. Anyway, we have got something to choose from. And the way of travelling depends only on our opportunities and preferences.
Another good thing is that travelling helps us live and enjoy life. When we get tired of our daily routine, we need to change the surroundings. And travelling is one of the best way to break the monotony of our life. We travel, see new countries and cities, visit historical places, meet new people and taste different dishes. It brings us new impressions and makes life brighter. And that’s why millions of people all around the world adore travelling.
And finally, it is commonly known that travelling is a very nice activity. It’s the time for relaxation and thinking. Nothing can give us a great deal positive emotions and memories as travelling. The best way to break the monotony of our life and learn a lot about different places and cultures in the world is travelling. I think that our modern life is impossible without travelling. People get tired of their daily routine, they need to change the surroundings. So they go to a travel agency, buy tickets to some nice place, pack their suitcases and set off on a journey.
Travelling has a great educational value because it is a chance to meet new people, visit museums and ancient sights, discover different ways of life, taste national cuisines and practice foreign languages. It makes us more appreciative of other cultures. The best way to study geography is to go to distant countries and cities.
We can travel by different means of transport: by plane, by ship, by train, by car and even on foot. It depends on our plans and preferences. Plane is the fastest but the most expensive means of transport. Travelling in a modern train can be very comfortable and enjoyable. We can admire picturesque landscapes from the window and communicate with our companions. When we travel by car we don’t have to buy any tickets or book a hotel, we can stop wherever we want and stay there as long as we like. The best way to get to a holiday destination is traveling by plane. This way is
fast and comfortable but a little bit dangerous. The safest way of getting to a
holiday destination is travelling by train. It is also very comfortable. Though
it is not as fast as by plane there are some advantages which are not in other
kinds of traveling. There is a possibility to lie on the coach, to sleep and to
have meal whenever you want, to get out in railway stations in order to breathe
fresh air or to buy something to eat. You can communicate with neighbours of
your tour or read a book. The most uncomfortable and risky way of traveling is
one by yourself, by car or on foot. I think that only tough people can do such
kind of getting to a holiday destination. Besides it is very tedious and you
don t know what can happen with you during this trip. You are not safe and don
t have any guarantees of your life and purse.
When we are already there we use of course the help of tourist agency, the
tourist guide, the map, the transfers, instructions of the hotel. Also we must
follow the rules of behavior which are accepted in that country and society in
order not to drop into ridiculous or criminal situation. Of course we must
listen attentively what the guide says and follow his advises.
At the place of our holiday we try to visit every sight which is suggested by
the agency, to get acquainted with the culture of that country where we have
come in. Certainly those who know the language are capable to talk to local
people to know more about their way of life, interests, culture and the
character. Such tourists can get more satisfaction from the tour than those who
don t know the language.
What do we leave behind? First of all we leave behind us the impression about
ourselves which the aboriginals had gained looking at our behavior and
listening what we were saying. They look at our culture image. And after our
tour they make a conclusion who we are, good, intelligent and cultural people
with whom it is pleasant to communicate or we are pigs whom they don t want to
see any more. All depends on ourselves. Of course we must leave behind clean
rooms, clean beaches and good impression.
What do we bring back? We also bring back the impression: about the country,
the people, the service, about the monuments and picturesque places, about all
the places of interest, the impression about the excursions, hotels, the way of
travelling, the impression of sea and beaches and we make the conclusion if we
will visit this place once more or not. We also bring back artifacts,
souvenirs, photos or something material for the memory.
Travelling is essential part of every human s life and spending your holiday
must be worthy, impressive and wonderful.
