A. Most of Africa’s rural peoples use natural resources that are locally available for their homes. In grasslands, people typically use grass to cover the walls and roofs. In forested areas, they use hardwoods as well as bamboo and raffia palm. Earth and clay are also major resources used in construction. In areas with few natural resources, people often live as nomads, moving from place to place. Instead of making permanent homes, they usually use simple shelters or tents made of animal skins and woven hair.
B. An architect must consider how a structure will be used and by whom. An apartment building, a palace, a hospital, a museum, an airport, and a sports arena all have different construction requirements. Another factor is the ideas the structure should communicate. For example, some buildings are made to impress people with a display of power and wealth; others — to make everyone feel welcome. Other things to consider are the location and surrounding environment, including weather, and the cost of materials.
C. Did you know that an eleven-year-old child first created the Popsicle? The boy’s name was Frank Epperson. In 1905, Frank left a mixture of water and powdered soda out on his porch by mistake. It also contained a stir stick. That night, fortunately for Frank, the temperatures fell to a record low. As a result, he discovered the substance had frozen to the stick, and a frozen fruit flavoured ice treat was created. He decided to call it the epsicle, which was later patented by him and named as Popsicle.
D. As Earth goes around the sun, the North Pole points to the same direction in space. For about six months every year, the North Pole is tilted towards the sun. During this time, the Northern Hemisphere gets more direct sunlight than the Southern Hemisphere and more hours of daylight. During the other six months, the North Pole is tilted away from the sun. When the Northern Hemisphere gets the most sunlight, it experiences spring and summer. At the same time, the Southern Hemisphere gets autumn and winter.
E. In southern Peru, there is an isolated plateau where the wind almost never blows. Here, around the year 400 to 650 AD, the people of the Nazca culture created the famous Nazca lines, by removing the red stones covering the ground so that the white earth beneath was visible. These Nazca lines are actually portraits of animals such as monkeys, birds or fish. It is a mystery how such a primitive civilization could create such artwork with precision when they had no means of viewing their work from the air.
F. Antarctica, which is the southernmost and fifth largest continent, does not have twenty-four-hour periods divided into days and nights. In the South Pole, the sun rises on about September 21 and moves in a circular path until it sets on about March 22. This “day”, or summer, is six months long. During this period, if the weather conditions are good, the sun can be seen twenty-four hours a day. From March 22 until September 21, the South Pole is dark, and Antarctica has its “night”, or winter.
G. Any ship that hits an iceberg can be damaged. The most famous iceberg in history sank the “Titanic”, a ship travelling in the northern Atlantic Ocean, on April 15, 1912. The ship’s side scraped the iceberg, which tore holes in the hull. Within three hours, the ship was at the bottom of the ocean. After the loss of the “Titanic”, several nations worked together to establish the International Ice Patrol. Today the U.S. Coast Guard runs the patrol, which warns ships about icebergs floating in Atlantic shipping routes.

Изменения в КИМ 2023 года в сравнении с КИМ 2022 года
1) В экзаменационной работе 2023 г. сокращено с 20 до 18 количество заданий в разделе 3 «Грамматика и лексика».
2) Уменьшено максимальное количество баллов за выполнение заданий 1, 2, 10 и 11. Максимальный балл за верное выполнение заданий 1 и 11 стал равен 3 баллам, за верное выполнение заданий 2 и 10 — 4 баллам.
3) Максимальный первичный балл за выполнение экзаменационной работы уменьшен со 100 до 86 баллов.
4) Уточнены формулировки задания 38 письменной части и задания 4 устной части, а также критерии оценивания задания 37 письменной части и задания 3 устной части.
На выполнение письменной части экзаменационной работы предоставляется 3 часа 10 минут.
На выполнение устной части экзаменационной работы предоставляется 17 минут, включая время для подготовки.

The first human carrying flight technology was the hot air balloon. While unmanned balloons have been around in some form for thousands of years, the first flight with people aboard was in 1782. The large balloon on top is called an “envelope”. It holds hot air created by a heat source known a burner. The burner creates an open flame by burning a mix of propane and air. Hot air balloons are capable of floating because the hot air inside the envelope has a lower density than the colder air outside. The top of the balloon usually has a vent which allows the pilot to control the speed of ascent or descent. Passengers typically stand in a basket beneath the envelope. While most envelopes have a standard balloon shape, others are designed to look like animals, cartoon characters and other fun objects.

Many lands that had once been swamps were drained or filled in. There are different reasons why people drained swamplands. Some were drained to fight diseases caused by insects that lived in them. Because swamps were considered unpleasant places in which to live and harmful to health, many people thought that unless they were drained the land was worthless.
Other swamps were drained to make new land. As the population grew and more land was needed, people drained swamps or filled them to make room for more farms and factories, more roads and airports.
Few people thought that it might be harmful to get rid of swamps. As swamps disappeared, other things happened. There were both more floods and more droughts than before. There were also more fires, for swamps had acted as firebreaks. Hunters noticed that there was less wild game. Wild life that once lived in the swamps was dying out, because it had no place to live.

The Vikings believed the Northern Lights were caused by the shining weapons of warriors. The Alaskan people thought the lights were the souls of salmon, deer and other animals. The Northern Lights are actually caused by electrons from solar winds. They are attracted to the poles by the magnetic fields found there. They mix with gases in the atmosphere, which causes the gases to glow. The Northern Lights are most visible in the far north. They are typically green, purple, red or blue.

Japan is an island nation in East Asia, located in the North Pacific Ocean off the coast of the Asian continent. Japan comprises the four main islands in addition to numerous smaller islands. Tokyo is the country’s capital and largest city. Mountains dominate Japan’s landscape, covering 75 to 80 per cent of the country. Historically, the mountains were barriers to transportation, limiting the economic development of isolated areas. However, with the development of tunnels, bridges, and air transportation in the modern era, the mountains are no longer an obstacle. The Japanese have long celebrated the beauty of their mountains in art and literature, and today many mountain areas are preserved in national parks. Most of Japan’s people live on plains and lowlands found mainly along the lower courses of the country’s major rivers, on the lowest slopes of mountain ranges, and along the sea coast. This concentration of people makes Japan one of the world’s most crowded countries.

Since ancient times, humans have loved and cherished cats as their pets. Today more than 80 million cats reside in US homes, with an estimated three cats for every dog on the planet. Yet there is still a lot we don’t know about our feline friends – including what they think of their owners. After observing pet cats for several years, scientists have come to an intriguing conclusion: cats don’t really understand people the way dogs do. They tend to feel it is they who own their masters, not vice versa. On the contrary, dogs perceive people as being very different from themselves. As soon as they see a human, they change their behaviour. The way a dog plays with a human is completely different from the way it plays with a dog. Cats are independent creatures and they can easily change their owner without changing their habits.

Демонстрационные варианты ЕГЭ по английскому языку для 11 класса за 2004 — 2008 годы включали в себя пять разделов: «аудирование», «чтение», «грамматика и лексика», «письмо», «говорение». К заданиям первых трех разделов в демонстрационных вариантах были даны ответы, а для заданий четвертого и пятого разделов приведены критерии оценивания.
Демонстрационные варианты ЕГЭ по английскому языку для 11 класса за 2009 — 2014 годы состояли уже из четырех разделов: «аудирование», «чтение», «грамматика и лексика», «письмо». К заданиям первых трех разделов в демонстрационных вариантах были даны ответы, а для заданий четвертого раздела приведены критерии оценивания.
Таким образом, из демонстрационных вариантов ЕГЭ 2009 — 2014 годов был исключен раздел «говорение».
В 2015 году ЕГЭ по английскому языку стал состоять из двух частей: письменной и устной. Демонстрационной вариант письменной части ЕГЭ 2015 года по английскому языку по сравнению с демонстрационным вариантом ЕГЭ 2014 года имел следующие отличия:
- Нумерация заданий была сквозной по всему варианту без буквенных обозначений А, В, С.
- Была изменена форма записи ответа в заданиях с выбором ответа: ответ стало нужно записывать цифрой с номером правильного ответа (а не отмечать крестиком).
- Задания по аудированию А1-А7 демонстрационного варианта 2014 года были трансформированы в задание 2 письменной части демонстрационного варианта 2015 года.
В 2015 году в ЕГЭ по английскому языку вновь вернулся раздел «говорение», теперь уже в виде устной части ЕГЭ.
В демонстрационных вариантах ЕГЭ 2016 — 2018 годов по английскому языку по сравнению с демонстрационным вариантом 2015 года по английскому языку существенных изменений не было: были уточнены формулировки заданий устной части экзамена и критерии их оценивания.
В демонстрационном варианте ЕГЭ 2019 года по английскому языку по сравнению с демонстрационным вариантом 2018 года по английскому языку были уточнены критерии оценивания выполнения задания 40 раздела «Письмо» в письменной части экзамена, а также формулировка задания 40, в котором участнику экзамена были предложены на выбор две темы развернутого письменного высказывания с элементами рассуждения «Мое мнение».
В демонстрационных вариантах ЕГЭ 2020 — 2021 годов по английскому языку по сравнению с демонстрационным вариантом 2019 года по английскому языку изменений не было.
В демонстрационном варианте ЕГЭ 2022 года по английскому языку по сравнению с демонстрационным вариантом 2021 года по английскому языку были внесены изменения в разделы «письменная речь» и «говорение».
В раздел «письменная речь» экзаменационной работы 2022 года было включено из 2 задания с развёрнутым ответом:
- В задании 39 нужно написать электронное письмо личного характера в ответ на письмо-стимул зарубежного друга по переписке. В связи с изменением вида письменного сообщения были внесены изменения в критерии оценивания задания. Максимальное количество баллов за выполнение задания 39 не изменилось (6 баллов)
- В задании 40 необходимо создать развёрнутое письменное высказывание с элементами рассуждения на основе таблицы/диаграммы и выразить своё мнение по теме проекта. В задании 40 учащемуся необходимо выполнить один из предложенных вариантов задания. В связи с изменением вида письменной работы были внесены изменения в критерии оценивания задания. Максимальное количество баллов за выполнение задания 40 не изменилось – 14 баллов.
В раздел «говорение» экзаменационной работы 2022 года были внесены следующие изменения.
- В задании 2 (условный диалог-расспрос) сокращено количество вопросов, которые должен задать участник экзамена, с 5 до 4. Максимальное количество баллов за выполнение задания 2 – 4 балла.
- В задании 3 (условный диалог-интервью) необходимо ответить на 5 вопросов интервьюера на актуальную тему. Каждый ответ на вопрос интервьюера оценивается от 0 до 1 балла. Максимальное количество баллов за выполнение задания 3 – 5 баллов.
- В задании 4 нужно оставить голосовое сообщение другу, вместе с которым выполняется проектная работа. В этом сообщении должны быть кратко описаны две фотографии-иллюстрации к теме проекта, обоснован выбор фотографии-иллюстрации и выражено своё мнение по теме проектной работы. Изменения были внесены в критерии оценивания выполнения задания. Максимальное количество баллов за выполнение задания 4 – 10 баллов.
Время выполнения письменной части работы было увеличено на 10 минут и составило 3 часа 10 минут. Время выполнения заданий устной части работы было увеличено на 2 минуты и составило 17 минут.
В демонстрационный вариант ЕГЭ 2023 года по английскому языку по сравнению с демонстрационным вариантом 2022 года по английскому языку были внесены следующие изменения.
- Сокращено с 20 до 18 количество заданий в разделе 3 «Грамматика и лексика».
- Уменьшено максимальное количество баллов за выполнение заданий 1, 2, 10 и 11. Максимальный балл за верное выполнение каждого из заданий 1 и 11 стал равен 3 баллам, каждого из заданий 2 и 10 – 4 баллам.
- Максимальное количество баллов за выполнение всей работы уменьшилось со 100 до 86 баллов.
- Уточнены формулировки задания 38 письменной части и задания 4 устной части, а также критерии оценивания задания 37 письменной части и задания 3 устной части.
Не пугаемся и никуда не бежим: изменения в проектной демоверсии ЕГЭ по английскому языку этого года НЕ такие существенные, как были в прошлом. Хотя сначала кажется иначе.
Перед описанием изменений уточню, что все, что мы видим ниже – проект, а не 100%-ный формат ЕГЭ, который увидим в июне 2023 года. Утвержденную демоверсию ждем в конце осени, а сейчас смотрим на предлагаемые изменения. Но по опыту мы с вами знаем, что скорее всего они все и останутся, внесут пару корректировок в текст заданий и до свидания, идите на экзамен.
Кстати, план подготовки к ЕГЭ 2023 учитывает все изменения последней демоверсии! Если вы собрались готовить к экзамену, эта книга точно облегчит ваше знакомство с форматом, потому что в нем собраны все необходимые ссылки на материалы и стратегии выполнения разделов.
Первичный и вторичный балл
Это – самое значительное изменение 2023 года. Вот как было раньше:
Максимально понятно. Сколько правильных ответов написал – столько баллов получил.
А вот что придумали сейчас:
Теперь за весь экзамен можно получить максимум 86 баллов, а не 100, как было раньше. То есть, 86 баллов = 100%. Если ученик получил 56 баллов, то при переводе в процент (где 86 баллов=100) это составит 65%. Высчитать можно по математической формуле или на калькуляторе:
Как еще усложнили подсчет баллов
Те, кто готовят к ЕГЭ давно, знают, что в экзамене есть задания базового (А2), среднего (B1) и повышенного (B2) уровня сложности. До этого года за правильные ответы в заданиях любой сложности давали баллы. Но теперь ситуация поменялась.
Количество заданий и в разделе “Аудирование”, и в разделе “Чтение” осталось одинаковым. А подсчет баллов изменился.
Цитирую ФИПИ: “за каждое неверное указание элемента балл снижается на один“. Расшифровываю: 6 ответов правильно = 3 балла. 5 ответов правильно = 2 балла. 4 ответа правильно = 1 балл. 1-3 ответа правильно = 0 баллов, гуляй Вася.
Такая же история и со 2ым заданием аудированием, и с заданиями 10 и 11 (это два первых чтения).
Раздел 3 (Грамматика и лексика)
Раньше здесь было 20 заданий, теперь их 18.
1 задание убрали из грамматики, 1 задание убрали из словообразования. Наглядно:
Изменений в формате тут нет, просто убрали 2 задания.
Письменная часть

Теперь это задание под №37, сдвинулась нумерация из-за удаления двух заданий в 3-м разделе.
И уточнили формулировку в критериях оценивания:

Здесь произошли изменения, которые всех больше всего пугают, потому что вместо bar chart появился pie chart. Но суть осталась та же самая, потому что пирожочек описывает те же тенденции, просто нарисовано по-другому:
Вот на что здесь нужно обратить внимание, так это на изменение формулировки в задании. Теперь мы не просто сравниваем, но и комментируем, и в конце не просто выражаем мнение, а его и объясняем. Но в прошлом году все так и делали, и так же советовала в своей статье и книге по графикам. И еще переписали 4-ый пункт с “arise with” на “one can face”, последнее и правда звучит лучше.
Устная часть
И последние изменения в экзамене.
Задание 3
Уточнили критерии оценивания:
Теперь нас просят не рассусоливать в интервью, а говорить 2-3 фразы, и уточняют, что ошибки уровня elementary балл не принесут.
Задание 4
Здесь изменения коснулись формулировки задания:
Первые два пункта сжали в один и advantages/disadvantages выделили в два разных параграфа. По сути, все тоже самое – просто формулировку поменяли.
Итого
Все изменения – на мой взгляд, косметика, а не правка самого формата. Самое сложное из всего этого – расчет первичного и вторичного балла за весь экзамен.

В каком формате проходит ЕГЭ по английскому?
ЕГЭ по английскому языку состоит из двух частей: письменной и устной.
На выполнение письменной части экзамена отводится 3 часа 10 минут (190 минут). За это время нужно выполнить задания четырех разделов:
- Аудирование
- Чтение
- Грамматика и лексика
- Письмо
Устная часть состоит из четырех заданий на говорение, на ответ дается 17 минут.
Формат ЕГЭ подразумевает набор стандартизированных заданий: то есть все варианты ЕГЭ похожи друг на друга. Экзамен 2022 года построен по тому же принципу, что и в 2021. Это облегчает подготовку 😉 Чтобы справиться с ЕГЭ, достаточно разобраться в структуре экзамена и отработать стратегию выполнения каждого задания. В этом помогают демоверсии и типовые задания ЕГЭ, которые регулярно публикует ФИПИ.
Говорение
Как устроена устная часть на ЕГЭ по английскому?
Устная часть ЕГЭ по английскому языку включает 4 задания.
Задание 1 — чтение вслух небольшого текста научно-популярного характера
- Максимум за задание — 1 балл
- Время на подготовку — 1,5 минуты
- Время ответа — максимум 1,5 минуты
Задание 2 — условный диалог-расспрос, составление 4 вопросов по заданной теме
- Максимум за задание — 4 балла, по баллу за каждый правильно построенный вопрос
- Время на подготовку — 1,5 минуты
- Время ответа — 1 минута, по 20 секунд на каждый вопрос
Задание 3 — участие в молодежном шоу, ответ на 5 вопросов ведущего
- Максимум за задание — 5 баллов, по баллу за каждый правильный ответ
- Время на подготовку — 0 минут
- Время ответа — 2 минуты, по 40 секунд для ответа на каждый вопрос
Задание 4 — связный монолог-обоснование выбора иллюстрации к проектной работе и выражение своего мнения по проблематике работы
- Максимум за задание — 10 баллов
- Время на подготовку — 2,5 минуты
- Время ответа — 3 минуты
Каждое последующее задание выдается компьютером после окончания выполнения предыдущего задания. Общее время ответа (включая время на подготовку) — 17 минут.

Задание 1
Как подготовиться к Заданию 1 на ЕГЭ по английскому?
1. Слушайте как можно больше научно-публицистических текстов на английском языке.
2. Повторите правила чтения. Найдите аналогичные задания по ЕГЭ за предыдущие годы и читайте их вслух, записывая себя на диктофон или видео.
3. Поймите общий смысл текста. Сознательное чтение гораздо лучше воспринимается на слух, и вы будете совершать меньше ошибок.
4. Если вы не знаете, как читается слово, вспоминайте похожие слова и читайте по аналогии. При подготовке обязательно проверяйте произношение в словаре.
5. Старайтесь читать четко, в комфортном и размеренном темпе. Спешить не нужно. 90 секунд вполне достаточно, чтобы в спокойно прочитать весь текст ☝️
6. Если вы поняли, что ошиблись в чтении какого-то слова — не беда. Перечитайте его правильно. Засчитан будет только последний вариант прочтения слова.

It is very difficult to say when the picture postcards originated. The evolution of the picture postcard reflects the history of the post service in the world. It is also connected with innovations in printing and photography. We may say the history of the picture postcard started with the postal reform in the UK in the 19th century. This reform made the cost of domestic mail delivery very cheap. The person who wanted to send the mail had to pay for it. A stamp was a way to show that you paid for your mail. Sending mail became popular. People were interested in nice paper and envelopes for their letters. That was the time when a scientist from Austria offered to make cards for sending short messages. Everybody liked the idea very much. The first postcards had very simple designs, but now you can buy beautiful cards with various pictures on them.

На экзамене оценивается только последний вопрос из прозвучавших за отведенное время для каждого пункта плана. Если вы думаете, что ошиблись, можете задать тот же вопрос правильно в течение 20 секунд.

Задание 3
Как подготовиться к Заданию 3 на ЕГЭ по английскому?
1. Каждый ваш ответ должен содержать полную грамматическую основу (подлежащее и сказуемое). Краткий ответ не допускается ☝️
2. Записывайте себя на диктофон. Это поможет убедиться, что вы вписываетесь во время, отведенное для каждого вопроса — по 40 секунд на каждый.
3. Тренируйте понимание английской речи на слух: слушайте подкасты, общайтесь с англоговорящими ровесниками, смотрите фильмы и сериалы на английском.
4. Составьте свой список слов-связок и используйте их при ответе на вопрос и при переходе между вопросами.
5. Повторяйте грамматику и тематическую лексику.

Как получить максимальный балл за Задание 4?
Чтобы получить высший балл за это задание, нужно:
- Раскрыть все пункты плана по порядку. То есть сказать по 3–4 фразы на каждый пункт плана. Если ваш ответ будет содержать менее 7 фраз, вам поставят 0 баллов.
- Сделать вступление с обращением к другу и сказать заключительную фразу.
- Использовать слова-связки для перехода между пунктами плана.
- Допустить не более 3 лексико-грамматических и не более 3 фонетических ошибок.
- Уложиться в отведенное для ответа время — 3 минуты.
Схема идеального ответа
Весь монолог должен четко соответствовать заданной теме ☝️
- Вступительная фраза;
- Краткое описание двух фотографий + обоснование выбора этих фотографий для проекта;
- Формулировка 1–2 различий между фотографиями + обоснование выбора этих фотографий для проекта;
- Обозначение достоинств и недостатков (1–2) по заданной теме;
- Выражение своего мнения по теме проекта;
- Заключительная фраза.
Как подготовиться к Заданию 4 на ЕГЭ по английскому?
1. Повторите грамматику для описания фотографий: Present Continuous, предлоги места, конструкцию there is/there are, слова-связки.
2. Самостоятельно, на курсах или с преподавателем используйте любую возможность тренировать спонтанную речь: слушайте подкасты, ходите на разговорные клубы, общайтесь с носителями языка.
3. Записывайте себя на диктофон. Попросите того, кто хорошо знает язык, проверить ошибки, чтобы их не повторять.
4. Изучите типичные ошибки, которые часто допускают на экзамене:
- отсутствие вступительной и/или заключительной фразы;
- нет обоснования, почему фото иллюстрируют содержание проекта;
- изменение порядка пунктов плана;
- раскрытие не всех пунктов плана;
- использование Present Simple, а не Present Continuous для описания фотографий;
- ошибки в артиклях, предлогах;
- отсутствие слов-связок.

In my opinion, these types of books have both advantages and disadvantages. Some people choose paper books because they prefer reading a hard copy, turning the pages, and smelling the paper. On the other hand, making paper needs trees, and it is not environmentally friendly. As for digital books, one of the advantages is that students can use them anytime and anywhere. However, reading an e-book is not healthy for the human eyes.
