Selfie stick егэ ответы

The trend of banning selfie sticks is soon catching on! From Disney theme parks to the Met, these gadgets are definitely a no-no, and Buzzle gives you a few reasons why.

In 2014, officials in South Korea issued a ban on the sale of unlicensed selfie sticks with Bluetooth technology. This ban was put in place as they were causing malfunction of many electronic devices. People selling uncertified selfie sticks were fined a whopping 30 million won, around $20,000!

Since March 2015, tourists visiting the Colosseum in Rome are prohibited from carrying a selfie stick over concerns that this device could damage the monument. This ban came shortly after two American tourists were arrested after being caught carving their initials in the monument and clicking selfies with it. The Palace of Versailles soon followed this and issued a ban on selfie sticks in its premises.

Institutes like the Smithsonian, Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Guggenheim Museum, London’s National Gallery, etc., have banned the use of selfie sticks to prevent any damage to the artifacts or other people.

If you thought you could live with these bans, then here are a few more, that are a bit hard to digest. Selfie sticks were banned from the cycling event in Australia called «Tour Down Under», this ban was put in place for the safety of the spectators, cyclists, and the officials. Apple Inc. banned these devices from a WWDC Developers conference as well, in order to discourage filming and professional photography of the event.

Selfie sticks have been banned from the happiest places in the world―all Disney themed parks―since June 2015. Despite the ban on the use these devices on rides, there were numerous instances where the rides had to be stopped after people attempted to use this device as they could be hazardous.

This device has been banned in almost every stadium in Brazil. Places like the Wembley Stadium, the Etihad Stadium, White Hart Lane Stadium, etc., have also been banned due to their potential use as a weapon that could compromise the safety of others. This ban was also put in place to discourage people from filming and photography.

Places like the O2 arena and various music festivals like the Coachella Valley Music Arts Festival, Lollapalooza, festivals at Copacabana, etc., have banned the selfie stick in order to curb unauthorized filming of live performances.

In addition to these, officials in Pamplona have banned tourists from clicking selfies during the annual Running of the Bulls festival for runners, for obvious safety reasons. Muslims are warned against clicking selfies at Mecca as it may pose a distraction from prayers and self-contemplation.

The latest trend of banning selfie sticks is soon catching on and is getting banned from almost everywhere you want to be, not because everyone around hates to see you carry your selfie sticks and posing your heart out, but because people have always refused to respect the rules the places they visited.

Yes, starting tomorrow (June 30th, 2015), “selfie sticks” are banned from Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort theme parks, but many have wondered what this means for other tripod or mono-pod type camera items. Well, Disney will still be allowing many of these items in, but there are some exceptions:

  • Tripods that can be folded and stored in a reasonable size bag are allowed. Large tripods are not.
  • Extendable camera monopods are allowed.
  • GoPro brand name body and head harnesses are allowed.
  • Short, brand name GoPro handles are allowed.
  • Brand name or similar style GRIP & SHOOT handles are also allowed.
  • GoPro 3-way or similar style extending handles are not allowed.
  • Selfie sticks of any kind are not allowed.

Essentially, any extending sticks for phones or GoPro cameras are now banned. The rules on tripods have always been as stated above, so there is no surprise there either.

Disney on Friday became the latest major tourism operator to ban selfie sticks as part of a growing backlash against the extendable devices, AFP reports.

The ban covers Disney theme parks in the United States, Paris and Hong Kong.

«We strive to provide a great experience for the entire family, and unfortunately selfie sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast,» said Kim Prunty, a Disney spokeswoman.

The measure will take effect on June 30 at Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California, and on July 1 at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Selfie sticks are already banned on some Disney rides and at a growing number of sites around the world, from museums to sports arenas.

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Six Flags has become the latest amusement park to ban selfie sticks at all of its locations.

The park first made the announcement via email to annual park passholders Wednesday, obtained by Theme Park Insider:

“Nothing is more important to us than your safety. After careful review we’ve decided to prohibit selfie sticks, monopods, and similar devices at all Six Flags theme and water parks effective immediately. Guests who bring selfie sticks to the park will be asked to store them in their cars during their visit. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and thank you for helping us keep Six Flags among the safest theme parks in the world!”

The announcement was also made official on various park websites. Selfie sticks have now been added to the “Prohibited Items” list on the policy page—appearing alongside contraband such as pepper spray, explosives, knives and glass bottles.

The move comes just weeks after Disney announced that selfie sicks would be banned from its parks, citing the popular tech item as a «growing safety concern for both our guests and cast.» Disney still allows monopods and collapsible tripods on park grounds.

Universal theme parks and resorts ban selfie sticks on park rides and attractions but the company has not yet issued a park wide ban for any of its locations.

Many popular tourist destinations and events across the world have already banned selfie sticks including Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lollapalooza, the Kentucky Derby and Wimbledon.

Disney will ban selfie sticks at all of its theme parks around the world from July the 1st. The entertainment giant has become the latest company to ban the sticks. Universal Studios was one of the first companies to put a ban in place. Many museums now also ban them. Kim Prunty, a Disney spokeswoman, said the ban was because of concerns that the sticks were dangerous for customers and Disney workers. She said: «We strive to provide a great experience for the entire family, and unfortunately, selfie sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast.» She added that staff have had to stop rides because people were using selfie sticks on them.

Selfie sticks have become very popular in recent years. They were designed so that people with mobile cameras could take photos of themselves. It seems as though everyone in the world is taking self-portraits to put on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. Even the president of the USA has been seen taking selfies. However, many people are getting angry with others who use selfie sticks, especially at tourist attractions. One passenger who used the stick on a rollercoaster at Disney California Adventure shut the ride down for nearly an hour. The PC World magazine offers a solution. It wrote: «Maybe you should…use the selfie sticks that we’re all born with — your arms.»

Disney will ban
selfie sticks at all
of its theme parks
around the world
from July the 1st.
The entertainment
giant has become
the latest
company to ban
the sticks.
Universal Studios
was one of the
first companies to put a ban in place. Many
museums now also ban them. Kim Prunty, a
Disney spokeswoman, said the ban was because
of concerns that the sticks were dangerous for
customers and Disney workers. She said: «We
strive to provide a great experience for the entire
family, and unfortunately, selfie sticks have
become a growing safety concern for both our
guests and cast.» She added that staff have had to
stop rides because people were using selfie sticks
on them.
Selfie sticks have become very popular in recent
years. They were designed so that people with
mobile cameras could take photos of themselves.
It seems as though everyone in the world is taking
self-portraits to put on Facebook, Twitter and
other social media sites. Even the president of the
USA has been seen taking selfies. However, many
people are getting angry with others who use
selfie sticks, especially at tourist attractions. One
passenger who used the stick on a rollercoaster at
Disney California Adventure shut the ride down for
nearly an hour. The PC World magazine offers a
solution. It wrote: «Maybe you should…use the
selfie sticks that we’re all born with — your arms.

Learn How to Sing

Everyone needs to be able to sing. It’s fine if you naturally have perfect A22 pitch, but if not, the embarrassment ruins birthdays and other events. People who can sing take this musical ability A23 for granted. If you can’t sing, people make fun of you, until the teasing just isn’t amusing any longer.

Luckily online courses make it possible to improve your singing voice over the Internet! With the help of technology, these classes are as good as having a real live singing teacher right in your living room. Singing lessons at home are A24 convenient because you can fit them around your life. They are taken at any time in the privacy of your own home, and if you are very embarrassed, you can do them when nobody else is about to hear. Moreover, vocal lessons you take in your own home allow you to succeed rapidly. You get your singing education at your own A25 pace and it’s up to you to decide how fast you will go. This means the course is fully customized for you.

No matter how bad your voice is singing courses can help you, although if you do not have the talent, they will not A26 turn you into the next pop star. Most singing courses start off with the simplest of exercises, and as you progress, give you more advanced instructions to help improve your singing skills. Soon you’ll find yourself singing the most complicated melodies, and this will A27 build up your confidence!

Perhaps you would like to sing in a public forum onstage? Does learning about different singing styles and harmonies sound interesting to you? Whatever singing category you are interested A28 in, online courses can assist you with your singing goals.
