The family is an important part of everyone`s life. Of course, in every family, there are some unique traditions. From my point of view, it is really important to have special traditions in a family because it makes family members closer and helps to make better relationships between children and parents. In my family, there are some traditions. The greatest one is to spend the whole Saturday together. My parents work really hard and very often they have to work overtime that`s why we do not have enough time to spend with each other during the working week. Every Saturday we go somewhere together. When the weather is good we go for a walk in a park. Sometimes we go to the cinema or theater. In the evening we have dinner together. My mom normally cooks something delicious. Every Sunday we do a big cleaning. For my family, it is important to keep the house clean. It creates a cozy atmosphere in it that`s why I always try to help my parents with cleaning. After that, we tend to visit my grandparents. What I like most of all is spending winter holidays abroad with my parents. It is an ideal way to relax and have fun together. There
are some family traditions in my family. For example, we always have dinner
together. Every evening, when my parents come home from work, we have a family
dinner. We discuss the important events of the day.

The
second tradition is connected with household duties. Everyone in our family has
his own duties. For example, my mum is responsible for cooking, while my dad
always does the shopping. I’m responsible for the pets and plants, while my
older sister is responsible for washing the dishes and vacuum-cleaning.

The
third tradition is celebrating holidays together. We especially like
celebrating New Year and Christmas. The traditional New Year dishes in our home
are a roast chicken, a couple of salads and my mum’s specialty — a vanilla
cake. We always prepare postcards and presents for one another.

have a happy family people must love and respect one another. It’s also a nice

opinions about them. Family traditions are also very important for those who
want to have a close family.

В моей семье есть семейные традиции. Например, мы всегда ужинаем

Every summer we all go on a camping trip. For a few days we stay in a cottage on a lakeside. We swim in the lake and lie in the sun, sometimes we go to the nearest village for a day out.

Every day we build a fire and cook food on it. This is the process that unites the whole family. Some make a fire, others cut vegetables and cook. This is the moment when we don’t stop talking to each other and laughing at jokes.

Fortunately, my grandmother lives not too far from us so we often go to visit her. But her birthday is a special day which everyone looks forward to.

This is the day when all the relatives come to her place to celebrate. My family is very big. I have uncles, aunts and cousins. My grandmother’s birthday is the day when we all sit around one big table.

We always support and help each other in different life situations. This builds the confidence and helps become successful. This is why personal achievements of each of us are the reason for everyone’s joy.

All families have their own traditions even if most of them fail to realize that. Such families don’t want to make a display of having traditions and don’t take them too seriously. Others in their turn are proud of their special heritage and pass it down through the generations very carefully.

As for my family, we have some traditions but don’t pay too much attention to them. They just exist naturally in our life. For example, we have a family recipe for the cake “Napoleon”. This dessert is rather popular all over the world but our version of it is different from the classic one.

Our Napoleon dates back to the youth of my grandmother and is made of simple and accessible ingredients because in those days it was difficult to buy food and there were few products in food stores. Nowadays, we can find any food in supermarkets but still, this cake has the same ingredients which now make it cheaper in comparison with other desserts.

Nevertheless, Napoleon is the favourite cake of my family and friends. My grandmother baked it, my mum, and now I do it, too. Despite having tried various even exquisite desserts and cakes, my family always remembers about Napoleon and asks me to bake it for every holiday and every time they want to remember its distinctive taste.

Such small traditions as ours make the family more united so we should follow and value them.

Несмотря на то, что члены моей семьи уже пробовали разнообразные и даже изысканные десерты и торты, они всегда помнят о Наполеоне и просят испечь его на каждый праздник или каждый раз, как захотят вспомнить его неповторимый вкус.

Такие маленькие традиции, как наша, делают семью более сплоченной, поэтому нам стоит следовать им и ценить их.

In every family there are different traditions. Family traditions help people to feel themselves part of the whole, strengthen the family unity and simply to enjoy happy memories. I think that the moments spent in the circle of your family are the most precious.
We have a great tradition in our family. On May Day we usually go to the country where my grandparents live and spend there our days off. I often help my grandma with gardening or go fishing with my granddad. We love to make up picnics. My father usually cooks Russian fish soup and grilled vegetables. We often sit up late at night and look through our family albums. I can sit for hours studying each image and recalling life events. It is so touching. If it is summer, on weekends we go to the river to sunbathe and swim. We play beach volleyball or badminton. To tell the truth, I like to «unite» with the nature. As for me, I can spend hours staring at the water. At night we often build a fire and sing to a guitar. At these moments I feel the happiest person in the world.
Another family tradition is decorating our New Year tree with ornaments, tinsel and candles. As I am fond of handicrafts, I usually make scrapbooks of our celebrations. My mother usually makes New Year’s tree decorations and it definitely adds a special festive touch to the New Year decor. Besides, we usually celebrate New Year at home, in the circle of our family. I get up early in the morning and help my mom to cook a festive supper. It is a tradition in our country to have a certain menu for this holiday. Usually it is a baked goose, a famous Russian salad called Olivier, jellied minced meat and, of course, champagne. Then I go into my room to put my gala dress on. Sometimes my mom asks me to help her lay the table. When all preparations are behind, we watch TV and wait for our guests to come. When the Kremlin chimes strike twelve times, all of us make wishes, hold glasses of champagne and wish each other Happy New Year. Children usually receive long-awaited presents from Grandfather Frost and Snow Maiden. Besides, New Year fireworks are must-have for this holiday.
Frankly speaking, I love all holidays but my birthday is my favorite one. My parents usually wake me up early in the morning with a nice song «Happy birthday, dear Sophia» and give me their presents and flowers. We always invite guests to our place and make fun. We sing songs, dance and play games. Then, suddenly, all the light goes out and my parents bring a very nice cake with burning candles. I make my wish and blow out all candles. In the end of the party all of us come outside and set off fireworks.

Family Traditions.

Each family has its own traditions. They can not only depend on the country of residence, but also from a particular family. I can tell you about traditions in my family, because I am not sure that other families has the same tradition.

Every morning we have breakfast together, discuss our problems, or some important things to do. When everyone goes about their business, we do not see each other until the evening. But we often call each other at lunchtime. I always call my parents when I get home, so they were not worried and knew where I was. In the evening I cook dinner, my parents and sister ate well after a hard days work. It so happened that the train was almost always me, its a good idea I did it. During dinner, we discuss the previous day and prepare for the new. After the meal, we watch movies together or funny sitcoms.

But at the weekend we have much more time that we spend together. Every weekend we visit our grandparents, helping with the farm and talk with them. But the second grandparents from mother live in Minsk, so we visit them a little less often, but I priezdzhayu to them for a month every summer vacation.

And of course, every holiday, such as New Year or Birthday, were going together. Our family decided to give gifts for the holidays. It does not have to be expensive, the important thing is, it could be any trinket — the main focus.

Yet every summer we go somewhere together. It may just be field trips, fishing or big trip abroad, it does not matter! For our family, the main thing is that we are together.

Perhaps the tradition in my family are not very different from the traditions of other families, but personally, I fully agree with our traditions and Im going to transfer them to my family when I grow up.

Каждое утро мы завтракаем вместе, обсуждая наши проблемы или какие-то важные дела. Когда все расходятся по своим делам, мы до вечера не видимся. Но зато мы часто звоним друг другу в обеденный перерыв. Я всегда звоню своим родителям, когда прихожу домой, чтобы они не волновались и знали где я. Вечером я готовлю ужин, чтобы мои родители и сестра поели хорошо после тяжелого рабочего дня. Так получилось, что готовить стала почти всегда я, это неплохо у меня получается. За ужином мы обсуждаем прошедший день и готовимся к новому. После еды мы вместе смотрим фильмы или смешные сериалы.

Но в выходные у нас гораздо больше времени, которое мы и проводим все вместе. Каждые выходные мы навещаем наших бабушку и дедушку, помогаем с хозяйством, разговариваем с ними. Но вторые бабушка и дедушка со стороны матери живут в Минске, поэтому мы навещаем их немного реже, однако я приезжаю к ним на месяц каждые летние каникулы.

И, конечно, каждый праздник, такой как Новый Год или День Рождения, мы собираемся вместе. В нашей семье принято дарить подарки на праздники. Это не обязательно должна быть дорогая, важная вещь, это может быть любая безделушка — главное внимание.

Еще каждое лето мы ездим куда-нибудь все вместе. Это может быть просто выезд на природу, ловля рыбы или большая поездка заграницу, не важно! Для нашей семьи главное то, что мы вместе.

Возможно, традиции в моей семье не сильно отличаются от традиций других семей, но лично я полностью согласна с нашими традициями и собираюсь перенести их в мою семью, когда вырасту.

What can be more pleasant than and recollecting some past events from your lives or telling exciting stories? It is so wonderful when all the family members come from different parts of the city or even world to spend time with their relatives. Usually it happens on holidays, as they can be days off and it is a tradition for some holidays to gather together. Such holidays are called family ones and usually they are similar in different countries, though there can be some exceptions. As for me, I think that family holidays are Christmas, New Year, Easter and Birthdays. In spite of a different origin they are celebrated in the family circle, but of course, some close friends can be also invited.

Что может быть приятнее, чем посидеть в семейном кругу и покушать вкусные блюда, вспоминая некоторые прошлые события из вашей жизни или рассказывая увлекательные истории? Это так замечательно, когда все члены семьи съезжаются из разных уголков города или даже мира, чтобы провести время со своими родственниками. Обычно это происходит на праздники, так как они могут быть выходными днями и для некоторых праздники собираться вместе это традиция. Такие праздники называются семейными, и, как правило, они схожи в разных странах, хотя там могут быть некоторые исключения. Что касается меня, я думаю, что семейные праздники – это Рождество, Новый Год, Пасха и дни рождения. Несмотря на различное происхождение, они празднуются в семейном кругу, но, конечно, некоторые близкие друзья могут быть также приглашены.

Christmas is the first and the most widely known family holiday all over the world. different dates for its celebration because of some religious views, it does not change the way it is celebrated in many countries. The whole family gathers in one place around the table and welcomes . They sing songs, discuss some topics, eat and drink. It is also a great tradition to give presents for this holiday, as children adore finding them in red stockings over the fireplace or under the fir-tree. Different countries serve different food for this holiday. The Americans cook turkey with vegetables, the Germans bake sweet Christmas biscuits, while the Eastern European countries have their own customs and traditions. We are used to cooking twelve dishes, the main one is kutya, sit at the table with the appearance of the first star in the sky and congratulate others singing carols. It is one of the most important days of the year, so everyone is always looking forward to it.

Another popular family holiday is New Year. It is celebrated on December, 31, when people welcome the coming of the next year. Usually many preparations take place before the holiday. People stand in long queues in order to buy products for their New Year tables and spend long hours in front of the cooker or oven some exotic dishes. Our New Year holiday is associated with champagne, fireworks and one famous salad called Olivier, sometimes accompanied by TV programs. When the clock strikes twelve, people cheer and make wishes. They are happy to forget past offences and misunderstandings and start the new one with everything good.

Easter is a Christian holiday, when people celebrate . It is always a day off, so taking place in spring all the family members try to spend it in nature. Forty days before the holiday people have to follow lent. So it is not surprising for Easter so much. This holiday also has some preparations to be made. All the hostesses bake Easter bread and paint eggs in different colors. In the evening or in the morning of the next day they go to the church. Then the family tries to spend together all the day celebrating and treating others with their pastry. In Germany there is one more tradition for children. They have an Easter rabbit, which hides eggs from children and they look for them everywhere. Easter is a perfect holiday for a family as it has some unique atmosphere and special family traditions.

One more holiday to invite your near and dear relatives is your birthday. Though with time fewer adult people celebrate it with the members of the family, state that birthdays of kids and elderly people are always visited by them. Who can make a kid happier than beloved grannies, , aunts, and cousins? They bring huge presents, hug, kiss and play with him or her. The same situation is with elderly people. They do not need posh restaurants, cafes or expensive presents: is the presence of children, grandchildren and other close people. So birthday is a holiday that deserves a title of a family one. No matter how old you are, you will be disappointed if someone from your family forgets about your holiday, and you would be very thankful to those your relatives, who found a minute and a penny to congratulate you.

Так что День рождения — это праздник, который заслуживает название семейного. Неважно, сколько вам лет, вы будете разочарованы, если кто-то из семьи забывает о вашем празднике, и вы бы очень были благодарны тем вашим близким, кто нашел минутку и копейку, чтоб поздравить вас.

Family holidays are not only an opportunity to celebrate a particular date, but also a possibility to unite all the family members. The more they meet and communicate the closer and more important they become to each other. Do not look for a special day to visit your relatives, as you have a chance .
