The ecology of our planet has long been under threat. Unfortunately, it is the human factor that primarily has a negative impact on the environment. But this environment is the habitat for both people and other living organisms. Man was created by nature in order to protect the planet for future generations.
At present, mankind is committed not to think about the negative effects of its activities on the environment. In turn, environmentalists are sounding the alarm and predicting a large-scale environmental catastrophe that threatens to exterminate all life on the planet.
It is worth emphasizing that a person pollutes the environment, first of all makes himself worse. Toxins and harmful chemicals that are the result of human activity have long poisoned most of the drinking water and food.
Practically all types of transport bring enormous harm to the environment, as their exhaust gases from burned fuel pollute the air. Most of the enterprises and factories are not equipped with treatment facilities, and all industrial waste goes to the atmosphere or rivers.
To improve the quality of the crop, special fertilizers are produced, which pose a serious danger to all living things. Lawless testing of nuclear and chemical weapons completely destroy the ecosystem.
Such negligent behavior of people leads to environmental disasters, such as acid precipitation, intensive melting of glaciers. There are new diseases and viruses that mutate and are not amenable to treatment. Mortality is increasing across the planet. Nature cannot self-purify, so people must understand the seriousness of the problem and avoid catastrophic situations.

Our nature is a unique thing. Long time ago it was pure and clean. There were many beautiful flowers, trees and herbs. Our lakes and rivers were so pure, that people can drink that water. Fish and animals also didn’t know the problems about their life.
Unfortunately today situation has changed a lot. People wanted so much to become the owners of the planet and started to ruin our nature. The worst thing that happened is destroying of ecology. There is no more possibility to use the water without filters, all the herbs and even animal products are not healthy anymore. Air and water pollution, factories, Chernobyl disaster, gases and all these things have ruined our ecology.
The result today is very sad. Many animals died and some of them are endangered species. Unfortunately our children will never see the animals we are not taking care nowadays.
There are many ways and solutions today to solve ecological problem. Ecology is something depends on you and me. We have to start to think how to safe our ecology every minute. Many things are impossible to change already. World catastrophe and pollution in every country effect us every day. But still it’s important to take care about the world ocean, forests and parks, air.
I like to spend my vacation in the village. I feel how nice and easy to breath there. I see how real and beautiful nature is there.
I hope all of us don’t close the eyes to all these problems and we will do everything possible to pick up a piece of paper out on the street, to refuse using of plastic straw and separate the garbage. It’s not difficult at all, but even these small things can save our ecology.

The Ecological Problems of Our District
Everybody knows that ecology depends on our humane attitude towards nature and it’s no secret that nowadays the world ecological situation is difficult. The degree of pollution of water, air and soil increases year after year and is considered to be a serious international problem. We all have heard about latest ecological catastrophe in Japan and its consequences and deeply realize how important it is to prevent such dangerous events in future.
Speaking about the problems of pollution I can’t help saying about the ecological problems of our district. I have been living in the east of Moscow for many years and have had a lot of chances to watch the negative environmental impacts.
Needless to say, that the main problem is the pollution of air. A lot of people in our district have their own cars and a lot of companies, especially transport ones, use lorries in their work. These transport facilities carry loads and passengers from one destination to another and at the same time do a lot of damage to nature.
The car exhaust fumes mix with air and we have to inspire this harmful mixture. I am very glad that lately the number of cars and garages in our yards has decreased but suppose that it would be better to use another transport, to move the garages to the suburbs or to arrange days of pedestrian traffic if we really want to clear the air.
In the district there are some heat stations and they also influence the condition of the air around.
I have already told you about two sources of pollution but I consider that the major source is not a plant, a heat station or cars. First of all, the state of the environment depends upon people. We know that our streets and yards are polluted with great amount of garbage.
A lot of teenagers and adults are used to setting scrapes of paper, cigarette ends and another small-sized garbage down and don’t think that these things decay, pollute the ground, smell and look very unlikely. And, watching these teenagers and adults, small children do the same.
I urge everyone not to leave garbage on the ground, as, to my mind, it is the first step to clear our streets and to love our nature. We must do our best to save the beauty and the cleanness of our nature for future generations and for ourselves.

Многие люди в нашем районе имеют собственные автомобили, и масса компаний, особенно транспортных, использует в своей работе грузовики. Эти транспортные средства перевозят грузы и пассажиров из одного пункта назначения в другой в то же время наносят вред природе.
Автомобильные выхлопные газы смешиваются с воздухом, и мы вынуждены вдыхать эту опасную смесь. Я очень рада, что недавно количество автомобилей и гаражей в наших дворах сократилось, но полагаю, что было бы лучше использовать другой транспорт, перенести гаражи в пригород или организовывать дни пешеходного движения, если мы действительно хотим очистить воздух.
В районе расположено несколько тепловых электростанций, и они также оказывают воздействие на состояние воздуха вокруг них.

Climate is a weather a certain place has over a long period of time. Climate has a very important influence on plants, animals and humans and is different in different parts of the world.
But recently the climate has changed a lot, especially in Europe. Scientists think that the reason is greenhouse effect. It is caused by carbon dioxide (углекислый газ). Carbon dioxide is produced when we burn things. Also people and animals breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. As you know, trees take this gas from air and produce oxygen. The world knows about the Green Peace action to stop hunting whales or killing baby seals. They block the way to the ships that try to dump waste, and work hard to create a nuclear-free world.
The activity of Green Peace often annoys governments, companies and people who don’t care about the future of the world.
Green Peace has offices in many countries, including Russia. People, who can’t take part in Green Peace actions directly support this organization with money.
Green Peace members are often called “greens”. The “greens” are group of people whose aim is protection of natural things, e.g. plants and animals.

Ecology is a science which studies the relationship between all forms of life on our planet and the environment.
Since ancient times Nature has served Man, giving him everything he needs: air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink, wood for building and fuel for heating his home. For thousands of years people lived in harmony with the environment and it seemed to them that the resources of Nature had no end or limit.
With the industrial revolution our negative influence on Nature began to increase. Large cities with thousands of polluting plants and factories can be found nowadays all over the world. They pollute the air we breathe, the water we drink, the fields where our crops are grown. Big cities suffer from smog. Cars with their engines have become the main source of polluting in industrial countries.
Vast forests are cut down everywhere for the needs of industries. As a result many kinds of animals, birds, fish and plants are disappearing nowadays.
The pollution of the air and the world’s oceans and the thinning the ozone layer are the other problems arising from men’s careless attitude to ecology.
Active measures should be taken to save the life on our planet. There is an international organization called Greenpeace which is doing much to preserve the environment.

Text 7. Protection of the Environment in Russia

In Russia and former Soviet republics there are some areas where the environment is in poor state. It is the Aral Sea, Lake Baikal and Chernobyl. We have to control atmospheric and water pollution, to study man’s influence on the climate.
The pollution of the environment influences the life of animals, plants and human life. If we don’t use chemicals in a proper way we’ll pollute our environment. Our plants and factories put their waste materials into water and atmosphere and pollute the environment. There are many kinds of transport in our big cities, that ‘s why we must pay attention to the protection of our nature and the health of the people.
Now radiation has become one of the main problems. It is not good for health of people. Many people died from radiation some years ago in Chernobyl. It was a tragedy.
Another problem is earthquakes. We know some terrible earthquakes in the world. Our scientists try to forecast earthquakes, then we can protect ourselves from them.
The people all over the world do everything to protect nature, to make their country richer, to make their life happier. We need to haves laws and decisions on this important subject.

As a result many people died, those who had survived suffered terrible deceases till the end of their life.

Now multiply 3 liters by the number of people in our city and you will see that it is a lot. But we can stop it if we switch off the water. We can reduce the usage of packing and buying things in plastic packs. It is important because it is very difficult to recycle plastic. If we reuse plastic bags, the factories will produce less of them and will harm Nature less.
In short: I can reduce the usage of gas, electricity and water. I can reuse many things (clothes, for example), paper, bottles.

Nowadays with the rise of advanced technology, the rapid spread of industrialization and the increase of human populations pollution has become a universal problem. For example, air polluted by plants will travel for a long distance with wind, the heavy particles will get into rivers and seas.
Pollution of the sea is the most dangerous. The regions that are most loaded with sea traffic are very dirty. For example, the Baltic sea is the dirtiest zone on the planet. The radioactive leak at Fukushima, Japan has led to the death of many fishes and other aquatic beings.
The cutout of forests, contamination of the seas and intense burning of coal has shifted the balance of the oxygen, ozone and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, making the ozone “shield” of the planet thinner. It results in global climate changes. Debates are still being held whether the “Global warming” is real, but every year there comes another evidence of the warming — the ice mounts melt at the poles, raising the global sea level.
You, of course, may say that you can’t affect the production of plants and factories much. But there is also the ecology of your home and your workplace. You shouldn’t pour dangerous chemicals to the ground — it will “die”, become infertile. Do not throw away batteries — send them to the recycling center. There are often special containers for batteries in major malls. Generally, do not waste resources — like take a shower, not a bath, turn down the water when you brush your teeth. But this environment is the habitat for both people and other living organisms. Man was created by nature in order to protect the planet for future generations. At present, mankind is committed not to think about the negative effects of its activities on the environment. In turn, environmentalists are sounding the alarm and predicting a large-scale environmental catastrophe that threatens to exterminate all life on the planet. It is worth emphasizing that a person pollutes the environment, first of all makes himself worse. Toxins and harmful chemicals that are the result of human activity have long poisoned most of the drinking water and food.
Practically all types of transport bring enormous harm to the environment, as their exhaust gases from burned fuel pollute the air. Most of the enterprises and factories are not equipped with treatment facilities, and all industrial waste goes to the atmosphere or rivers. To improve the quality of the crop, special fertilizers are produced, which pose a serious danger to all living things. Lawless testing of nuclear and chemical weapons completely destroy the ecosystem.
Such negligent behavior of people leads to environmental disasters, such as acid precipitation, intensive melting of glaciers. There are new diseases and viruses that mutate and are not amenable to treatment. Mortality is increasing across the planet. Nature cannot self-purify, so people must understand the seriousness of the problem and avoid catastrophic situations.

Since ancient times Nature has served Man, being the source of his life. For thousands of years people lived in harmony with environment and it seemed to them that natural riches were unlimited. But with the development of civilization man’s interference in nature began to increase.
Large cities with thousands of smoky industrial enterprises appear all over the world today. The by-products of their activity pollute the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land we grow grain and vegetables on.
Every year world industry pollutes the atmosphere with about 1000 million tons of dust and other harmful substances. Many cities suffer from smog. Vast forests are cut and burn in fire. Their disappearance upsets the oxygen balance. As a result some rare species of animals, birds, fish and plants disappear forever, a number of rivers and lakes dry up.
The pollution of air and the world’s ocean, destruction of the ozone layer is the result of man’s careless interaction with nature, a sign of the ecological crises.
The most horrible ecological disaster befell Ukraine and its people after the Chernobyl tragedy in April 1986. About 18 percent of the territory of Byelarus were also polluted with radioactive substances. A great damage has been done to the agriculture, forests and people’s health. The consequences of this explosion at the atomic power-station are tragic for the Ukrainian, Byelorussian and other nations.
Environmental protection is of a universal concern. That is why serious measures to create a system of ecological security should be taken.
Some progress has been already made in this direction. As many as 159 countries — members of the UNO — have set up environmental protection agencies. Numerous conferences have been held by these agencies to discuss problems facing ecologically poor regions including the Aral Sea, the South Urals, Kuzbass, Donbass, Semipalatinsk and Chernobyl.
An international environmental research centre has been set up on Lake Baikal. The international organisation Greenpeace is also doing much to preserve the environment.
But these are only the initial steps and they must be carried onward to protect nature, to save life on the planet not only for the sake of the present but also for the future generations.Экологические проблемы

I think it is necessary to help wild animals. Many of them are in danger now. For example, pandas which live in the jungle and white bears which live in the Arctic.
White bears eat fish. If people pollute rivers and seas, animals die.
All woods are home to animals and birds. It is important to take care of them. If trees are damaged and flowers and grass are cut, birds and animals can become instinct.
Each of us can do something to help nature. We must not frighten animals and birds. We must never break plants or baby trees.
There are a lot of ways to help our planet. We must take care of it.

Climate is a weather a certain place has over a long period of time. Climate has a very important influence on plants, animals and humans and is different in different parts of the world.
But recently the climate has changed a lot, especially in Europe. Scientists think that the reason is greenhouse effect. It is caused by carbon dioxide (углекислый газ). Carbon dioxide is produced when we burn things. Also people and animals breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. As you know, trees take this gas from air and produce oxygen. But in the last few years people have cut down and burn big areas of rainforest. This means that there are fewer trees and more carbon dioxide.
This gas in the atmosphere works like glass in a greenhouse. It lets heat get in, but it doesn’t let much heat get out. So the atmosphere becomes warmer.
Greenhouse effect is sometimes called global warming.

60% of the air pollution is caused by different means of transport: cars, trucks, buses.
Then we must remember that when we use aerosol sprays, we destroy the ozone layer which protects the Earth from the dangerous ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Green Peace is an international environmental organization which fights against the pollution of the environment. It was founded in 1969 by a group of Canadian environmentalists. Members of Green Peace appear in the places where the environment is endangered. They always act fast.
The world knows about the Green Peace action to stop hunting whales or killing baby seals. They block the way to the ships that try to dump waste, and work hard to create a nuclear-free world.
The activity of Green Peace often annoys governments, companies and people who don’t care about the future of the world.
Green Peace has offices in many countries, including Russia. People, who can’t take part in Green Peace actions directly support this organization with money.
Green Peace members are often called “greens”. The “greens” are group of people whose aim is protection of natural things, e.g. plants and animals.

A new low-cost fuel is being developed by a biotechnology company. It is called biobutanol and is expected to be the best environmentally friendly fuel for transport.
Butanol is derived from waste plant material (biomass) and is an attractive replacement for petrol.
It reduces not only CO2 emissions but also our dependence on finite fossil fuels.
The UK’s Minister for Science said: “The development of biofuels is expected to play a major part in reducing transport emissions. Climate change is a huge global problem. We believe the UK must put its best efforts towards developing the new technologies.”

So in the late 19th century ecology as a science was formed, though particular parts of it were studied in antiquity. The term “ecology” was introduced by German biologist Ernst Haeckel. Nowadays we name with the term “ecology” different fields connected with the environment. Let us start with the describing ecology as a science.

Ecology as a science studies how living organisms react upon each other and the environment. Of course, nowadays the definition of the term “ecology” is quite broader than it was when the science had just been formed. There are many definitions of it. For example, one of them is connected with biology and in that case ecology studies populations and ecological systems. The other term is closer to the original definition and in that case ecology studies relations between living organisms.

Many scientists think that people should not mix up ecology and the environmental protection because ecology is a science. Of course, they are closely connected with each other. If people pollute the environment and, consequently, some population of animals extinct, all these things will affect the ecology as science.

Ecological Problems
Since ancient
times Nature has served Man, being the source of his life. For
thousands of years people lived in harmony with environment and
it seemed to them that natural riches were unlimited. But with
the development of civilization man’s interference in nature
began to increase.
Large cities with
thousands of smoky industrial enterprises appear all over the
world today. The by-products of their activity pollute the air
we breathe, the water we drink, the land we grow grain and
vegetables on.
Every year world
industry pollutes the atmosphere with about 1000 million tons of
dust and other harmful substances. Many cities suffer from smog.
Vast forests are cut and burn in fire. Their disappearance
upsets the oxygen balance. As a result some rare species of
animals, birds, fish and plants disappear forever, a number of
rivers and lakes dry up.
The pollution of
air and the world’s ocean, destruction of the ozone layer is the
result of man’s careless interaction with nature, a sign of the
ecological crises.
The most horrible
ecological disaster befell Ukraine and its people after the
Chernobyl tragedy in April 1986. About 18 percent of the
territory of Byelarus were also polluted with radioactive
substances. A great damage has been done to the agriculture,
forests and people’s health. The consequences of this explosion
at the atomic power-station are tragic for the Ukrainian,
Byelorussian and other nations.
Environmental
protection is of a universal concern. That is
why serious
measures to create a system of ecological security should be
taken.
Some progress has
been already made in this direction. As many as 159 countries —
members of the UNO — have set up environmental protection
agencies. Numerous conferences have been held by these agencies
to discuss problems facing ecologically poor regions including
the Aral Sea, the South Urals, Kuzbass, Donbass, Semipalatinsk
and Chernobyl.
An international
environmental research centre has been set up on Lake Baikal.
The international organisation Greenpeace is also doing much to
preserve the environment.
But these are
only the initial steps and they must be carried onward to
protect nature, to save life on the planet not only for the sake
of the present but also for the future generations.

In recent years the number of environmental problems has increased greatly. One of the most dangerous problems for our planet is global warming which means that most climates all over the world are changing and getting warmer. It happens because we burn too much petrol resources, such as oil and coal, and the Earth heats up. This process can cause melting of the polar ice and the sea level rising in the future. If the climate changes there will be floods, heavy storms or severe droughts in different areas of the world. Cutting down on exhaust fumes from vehicles could help solve this serious problem.
Our planet is overpopulated, that’s why we are using up our natural resources – they are not endless. So the scientists have started looking for some alternate forms of energy such as water, wind, sunlight and even tides. These resources are clean, natural and unlimited. I’m glad that modern automobile industries make hybrids which use electric or solar energy instead of petrol. It would definitely help protect our environment from pollution.
There are different kinds of environmental pollution: air pollution, water pollution, land pollution. Sadly, not all human beings realize or admit that we are the ones who cause these problems and we should be the first to stop them and protect our environment. Because of the industrial revolution the air is polluted with awful chemicals; seas and oceans are poisoned with oil spills. Many rare species of flora and fauna are threatened with extinction.
We should be proud to live on our wonderful planet and understand that the consequences of pollution might be terrible and affect us and our children later. We should start recycling things made of glass, paper, plastic and aluminium. We should stop smoking and plant as many trees as we can because they can give us more oxygen. We need to drive less and use public transport in order to reduce fuel burning. We are responsible for the situation.

We live on the earth. It is very, very big. There is a lot of water on the earth. It is in rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. There are a lot of forests and fields, hills and mountains on it. The earth is full of wonders. Different animals live on the earth. Different plants grow on it. The earth is beautiful. There are large countries and small countries. There are warm countries and cold countries. There are some countries where there are four seasons in a year and some countries where there are only two. When the sun shines it is day. When the sun does not shine it is night. When it is day in one country it is night in another. You can see the moon and the stars in the sky at night. People live in different countries. They speak different languages.
People have lived on our planet for many years. They lived and live on different continents, in different countries. People depend on their planet, on the sun, on animals and plants around them. People must take care of Earth. Our ecology becomes worse and worse with every new day. Many species of animals and birds are disappearing nowadays. People destruct wildlife, cut down trees to make furniture. They forget that people can’t live without trees and plants, because they fill air with oxygen. And, of course, great problems are population and animals destruction. The main reason of pollution is rubbish. Most of our rubbish goes to big holes in the ground, called ‘dumps’. But dumps are very dangerous for our life ’cause they are full of rats, which can carry infections away from dumps. Another way to get rid of rubbish is to burn it. But the fires make poisons, which go into the air and pollute it. But pollution isn’t the only actual problem. Every day a big number of animals disappears . People kill animals for different aims: e.g. people hunt whales for their meat and oil; elephants for their tusks, crocodiles for their leather and so on. And also animals are used for medical experiments. The most wide – speared from such animals are monkeys. Modern life is bad for animals, birds, fish. The air isn’t fresh and the water isn’t pure. They don’t have good meal and facilities for the life. You can find their names in the Red Book.
The planet Earth is only a tiny part of the universe, but it’s the only place where human beings can live. Today, our planet is in serious danger. Acid rains, global warming, air and water pollution, overpopulation are the problems that threaten human life on Earth.
Who is to blame for the disaster? The answer is simple: all of us. Our forests are disappearing because they are cut down or burnt. If this trend continues, one day we won’t have enough oxygen to breathe.
The seas are in danger. They are filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste, chemical fertilisers and pesticides. The Mediterranean is already nearly dead; the North Sea is following. The Aral Sea is on the brink of extinction. If nothing is done about it, one day nothing will be able to live in the seas.Every ten minutes one kind of animal, plant or insect dies out for ever. If nothing is done about it, one million species that are alive today may soon become extinct.
Air pollution is another serious problem. In Cairo just breathing the air is dangerous — equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. The same holds true for many Russian cities. Factories emit tons of harmful chemicals. These emissions have disastrous consequences for our planet. They are the main reason for the greenhouse effect and acid rains. An even greater threat are nuclear power stations. We all know how tragic the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster are.
Fortunately, it’s not too late to solve these problems. We have the time, the money and even the technology to make our planet a better, cleaner and safer place. We can plant trees and create parks for endangered species. We can recycle litter. We can support green parties and put pressure on those in power. Together we can save the planet and all of us with it.
Of course, people can’t stay indifferent to these problems. There are a lot of special organizations, which try to save our nature. The most known are: The Royal Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (The RSPCA), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Greenpeace. The RSPCA tries to protect animals from bad use. It operates big nation campaigns aimed at lost pets, circus animals. The WWF rescued several species of animals, mammals as well as birds. These organization also helped to create more than 250 National parks. Greenpeace began its work 20 years ago from saving whales. And now Greenpeace is a world-famous organization, which saves plants, animals and people. These organization, want to rescue animals, to help them to survive and to save jungle rain forests, which are in danger of destruction. And they also help animals ’cause many of them have already gone as they have nowhere to live. Their homes, the trees, have disappeared. We must save wild animals. And we must find the right way to save land, people and animals. We must lake care of nature, because we are part of it.

In my opinion, people must care about the environment. We must keep our planet from pollution. Fortunately, there are many ecological organizations which do their best to minimize environmental pollution.

People who worked at these stations were not careful. So these stations are destroyed now. They are polluting a big territory. Thirdly, our world needs much fuel for various machines, technologies, various branches of science and everyday life. And the extraction of minerals harms nature and changes the landscape around the place of extraction.
But some people think that nowadays we have a lot of brands – new technologies that will help us in future. They say that these technologies will help us with hunger, unemployment, dangerous kinds of diseases such as plague and cancer. With the help of nanotechnologies people will get new materials, which can be useful for the army, medicine, science. With a great technological progress the humanity will conquer space. All in all, people will defeat death.
I absolutely disagree with these people. Of course, it would be a great success for humanity. But these «dreams» need a lot of recourses which are not endless. And it is a long process to invent all these things and spread them all over the world.
In conclusion, I would like to stress that our world is very fragile, and we should take care of it because we are a part of this world. Without beautiful nature, useful plants, and animals humanity will die out. Don’t you agree with me?

Некоторые люди говорят, что в настоящее время проблема экологии становится все более и более важной. Но другие считают, что это не важно для людей с современными технологиями. И кто же прав? Я за первую точку зрения, и теперь я постараюсь объяснить, почему.
Во-первых, есть много больших городов в мире, таких как Нью-Йорк, Токио, Пекин и Москва. Эти города загрязняют много. Есть некоторые виды загрязнения: загрязнение воды, загрязнение воздуха, и ядерное загрязнение. Мы дышим грязным воздухом, пьем грязную воду, и едим грязные фрукты и овощи. Так это вредит нашему здоровью. Во-вторых, есть много атомных станций во всем мире, такие как Чернобыль или Фукусима, которые стали опасными объектами из-за радиации. Люди, которые работали на этих станциях, были не осторожны. Таким образом, эти станции сейчас уничтожены. Они загрязняют большую территорию. В-третьих, наш мир нуждается в большом количестве топлива для различных машин, технологий, различных отраслей науки и повседневной жизни. Добыча полезных ископаемых вредит природе и изменяет ландшафт вокруг места добычи.
Но некоторые люди думают, что в настоящее время у нас есть много новшеств — новые технологии, которые помогут нам в будущем. Говорят, что эти технологии помогут нам с голодом, безработицей, опасными видами заболеваний, такие как чума и рак. С помощью нанотехнологий люди будут получать новые материалы, которые могут быть полезны для армии, медицины, науки. С большим техническим прогрессом человечество освоит космос. В конце концов, люди победят смерть.
Я абсолютно не согласен с этими людьми. Конечно, это было бы большим успехом для человечества. Но эти для этих «мечтаний» нужно много ресурсов, которые не бесконечны. И это длительный процесс – изобрести все эти вещи и распространить их по всему миру.
В заключение мне хотелось бы подчеркнуть, что наш мир очень хрупок, и мы должны заботиться о нем, потому что мы являемся частью этого мира. Без красивой природы, полезных растений и животных человечество вымрет. Разве вы не согласны со мной? -

The earth is the only planet that people can live on, but nowadays they seem to be doing everything to make their home unfit for living. Industrialization has brought us into conflict with the natural environment. Our planet is in danger: air, water and land pollution have disastrous consequences which threaten human life on Earth.
Земля – это единственная планета, на которой живут люди. Но сегодня, кажется, они делают все, что сделать свой дом непригодным для жизни. Индустриализация привела нас к конфликту с окружающей средой. Наша планета в опасности:загрязнение воздуха, воды и земли имеют катастрофические последствия, которые угрожают жизни человека на земле.
I strongly feel that the more money is invested in ecology projects, the better our lives are going to be. People have technologies to make our planet cleaner: we can control pollution, recycle waste materials, protect rare animals and plants and install antipollution equipment. We need more disaster-prevention programs in order to control environmental pollution, fight the destruction of wildlife and preserve woodlands. There should be more organizations like Greenpeace that will help protect the animal world and stop environmental degradation. Such organizations influence public opinion and help form a correct attitude to nature. There should be more newspaper articles, TV-programs and science-popular films about ecological problems. They help people become environment-educated.
Я уверен, что чем больше денег инвестируются в экологические проекты, тем лучше будет наша жизнь. У людей есть технологии, чтобы сделать нашу планету чище: мы можем контролировать загрязнение, перерабатывать отходы, защищать редких животных и растений и устанавливать антизагрязняющее оборудование, бороться с разрушением дикой природы и сохранять леса. Должно быть больше организаций типа Гринписа, которые помогут защитить животный мир и остановить ухудшение экологии. Такие организации влияют на общественное мнение и помогают сформировать правильное отношение к природе. Должно быть больше статей в газетах, тв программ и научно-популярных фильмы об экологических проблемах. Они помогают людям больше знать об окружающей среде.
However, many people still believe that nature is doing well by itself. They use natural resources and pollute the environment, but they don’t think how awful the consequences may be. I’m sure that nature can’t do without our help. If we want to breathe fresh air, to drink clean water and to eat healthy food, we must stop polluting the environment.
Однако многие люди все еще считают, что в природе все хорошо. Они используют природные ресурсы и загрязняют окружающую среду, но они не думают, какие ужасные последствия могут возникнуть. Я уверен, что природа не может обойтись без нашей помощи. Если мы хотим дышать свежим воздухом, пить чистую воду и употреблять здоровую пищу, нам нужно остановить загрязнение окружающей среды.
To conclude, ecological problems concern everybody and there are ways to solve them. People must always remember that the earth is our home and it depends on us w’hat it will be like.
