One of my favourite films is «Twilight». Actually it’s a series of five fantasy films, based on the books of American writer Stephenie Meyer.
The main characters are Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. They are young people with the hundred year gap between them. Why is it so? Because they are from two absolutely different worlds: Bella is a human and Edward is a vampire.
Bella is an emotional, moody and romantic,as any teenager. But she’s also determined and doesn’t change her mind easily.
Edward is stubborn, but kind, polite and charming.
They fell in love from the first sight. Edward felt the need to protect Bella. No matter how cold his blood was, their relations were passionate and even hot.
When I watched these movies, I couldn’t take my еyes off the screen from start to finish. Sometimes it was touching, sometimes funny. The main idea is that love defeats everything, even violent blood lust.
There aren’t many special effects in it, but the plot is fast-moving. And the song «A thousand times» became my favourite too.
So I think «Twilight» is definitely worth of seeing!

Going to the cinema is one of my favorite ways of spending leisure time. I always enjoy watching a beautiful and high-quality movie on a big screen, surrounded by impressive sound. Of course it really matters what kind of film is on, as I prefer good comedies, actions, thrillers, fantasy and science-fiction films. And I’m not fond of dramas, westerns or horror films.
The last films I was deeply impressed by were all 5 parts of “The Twilight Saga”, directed by talented David Slade. The saga is a screen version of famous books written by an American writer Stephanie Mayer. These vampire fantasy novels became absolute blockbusters all over the world. Kristen Stuart and Robert Pattinson are in the leading roles there and their acting is superb and so natural.
The plot of the films tells us about a heart-piercing love triangle between a human teenager Bella, a white-faced vampire Edward and a werewolf Jacob. They meet each other in a small American town and face incredible battles to protect Bella from other powerful vampires. Bella and Edward get married but she nearly dies giving birth to their daughter. So her husband turns her to a vampire and saves her life.
The soundtracks in the film are touching and romantic. All the scenes and feelings are depicted with great taste and tension. The camerawork and special effects are fantastic. The saga leaves a long-lasting impression and you are willing to watch it again and again. I believe it’s a modern masterpiece of American cinema industry. And now I’m dreaming of reading the whole saga in English.

I like movies very much, especially fantasy. My favorite movie is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The movie came out in 2001, but it is still very good. Of course, I have seen all the Harry Potter movies, but the first one is special for me.
The movie is set in modern England and in a fictional place called Hogwarts. The story is a mixture of real-life drama and fantasy. The main character of the movie is a ten-year-old orphan Harry. His parents died when he was a baby, and now he lives with his foster parents and his stepbrother who do not like him. Although Harry has a family, he is a very lonely boy.
What I like about this movie is how drastically Harry’s life changed one day. On his eleventh birthday he was invited to study at Hogwarts, the magic school that, as it turned out, his parents attended. He started learning how to use magic and fly on a broomstick. He found good friends and a new home. At the beginning of the movie, Harry is just an ordinary boy. At the end of the movie, he is a hero and one of the most promising young wizards in Hogwarts.
In the following movies, Harry’s story continues, but I like the first one the most. For me, it is not just a story about magic, wands, spells, it is a story about ordinary people and friendship. Yes, Harry, Ron, and Hermione can cast spells, but do not seem to be some sort of mysterious creatures. For us, they are just normal people. They speak and act like any kids of their age. I like Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone because it is the beginning of their story. The storylines of the main characters develop as they grow up in the other movies, but it is so nice to see them at the beginning of their journey.

When I was younger, I also watched “Tom and Jerry”. Knowing that I’m fond of this cartoon, my mum often bought me various thematic items. For example, a plate or a T-shirt with Tom and Jerry picture. I can’t say I liked Tom’s character more than Jerry’s, or vice versa. I liked both these characters, as they were good in their own way. Tom often gets in stupid situations while chasing a tricky mouse and that makes me feel sorry for him. Jerry’s mission is not to get caught, because if he does, the cat will probably eat him. So, when I watch the series of this cartoon, I worry about both characters at the same extent. I’m sure I’m not the only child, who likes “Tom and Jerry”. Millions of kids across the world watch this cartoon. Due to its popularity, it has been translated into many languages.

“Twilight”, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, is based on Stephenie Meyer`s book. The main character, Bella, is a young girl, played by Kristen Stewart, risks her life and the lives of others because she falls in love with Edward (Robert Pattinson) – a vampire.
The film centres on Bella (Kristen Stewart) who falls in love with a vampire without realizing that fact. Soon she discovers the truth herself; moreover she is not afraid of Edward though he wanted to drink her blood when he saw Bella for the first time. Edward even rescues Bella, helping her to realize the life of an ordinary person, a human being and at the same time he needs to control his wishes.
“Twilight” covers the problems of young people, relations, love, and attitude to each other; some critics say that it is a romance and fantasy for young generation, who wish to enjoy the ideal love story. Nevertheless, this is all done in a fantastic way with the performance of the characters. Robert Pattinson is brilliant in his role and adorable in his emotions he represents in the film.
If you desire to watch a triumph of Love and like love stories, then I would recommend it, in view of the fact that this is a classical love story with adventures of the main characters. Probably “Twilight” is not excellent but the performance of K. Stewart and R. Pattinson is really worth watching.
