excellent hearing make it possible to hide from danger.

In
the summer, the squirrels are red in color. Only with the arrival of cold
weather, their color changes and becomes gray. Squirrels spend the winter in
the hollows left by the woodpecker. There they build their nest. For
construction, they use moss, as well as branches and leaves of trees. The
animals can spend the winter either singly or in several individuals. The more
squirrels in the hollow, the warmer it will be. As for food, squirrels are not
particularly picky here. They like to collect berries, nuts, various seeds and
mushrooms. Squirrels are thrifty comrades. In summer, they painstakingly
collect berries and mushrooms for a long time, after which they cling to
branches so that they dry out properly. If a squirrel does not stock up on food
over the summer, then in winter it will simply die of hunger. The squirrel
hides all its reserves in its hollow, or buries them in the ground. It turns
out that proteins can eat not only different berries and mushrooms. They like
to eat small birds, insects, frogs and even bird eggs. When winter comes, the
squirrel climbs into its hollow, laying the entrance with moss. If the frosts
on the street are not strong, the animals can come out of their shelter and
walk outside, if the frost is very strong, they prefer to stay in the hollow,
because it is much warmer there.

An
adult squirrel can have up to 10 squirrels. They are always born blind and
without hair. Over time, the squirrels gain strength by feeding on their
mother’s milk. Up to 2 months, small squirrels are in no hurry to lick out of
the hollow, they are very afraid of heights. But after 2 months, they are
already deftly, and can leave the nest on their own. Squirrels are considered
intelligent animals, they can climb into villages and suburbs, settle in
outbuildings and other premises. Sometimes people have to close their attics
and basements well, otherwise, if squirrels get there, it won’t be sweet. They
will quickly adjust everything to themselves, equipping their nests and
stocking up on provisions.

Still,
squirrels prefer to live among nature. Their small weight allows them to almost
fly over the branches. Squirrel is just a master at finding food for himself.
Sometimes they can go far to find a cone or mushroom. Squirrels do not live
very long, about 5 years. They have their enemies. Squirrels are hunted by
humans, birds and even other large animals. Therefore, in order to save their
lives, squirrels should be very careful. Squirrels are very clean. They take
care of their appearance every day, clean their fur and ears. Therefore, it is
not for nothing that squirrels are depicted in fairy tales and drawings,
beautiful with a lush coat.
