In other words, we can say that patriotism signifies keeping the nation’s interests first and thinking about as an individual later. At times of war, the feeling of patriotism multiplies.

Another significance is that a country is referred to as the motherland so we should treat it equally as we do respect our own mother. Our country helps us to grow and nurture so we also have a duty to make it better in every sense. It enhances our life’s quality and when we all will work for the country’s betterment then we could save ourselves from indulging in conflicts. As a result, a happy environment will be established.

India’s Patriots

The history of India’s freedom struggle shines through the immortal courage of the heroic personalities like Veer Damodar Savarkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and many more who lived in the age of national upsurge and sacrificed their lives for the sake of their beloved country. Such great patriots fought for the country and against the atrocities that were being perpetrated on the countrymen.

Singing slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, ‘Jay Hind’, these patriots went to the cross for the country with a smile on their faces and pride in their hearts. Patriotism does not always mean that you have to sacrifice your life for your country; contributing good service towards the country and its people is also equivalent to your sacrifice.

Mathunny Mathews has set a great example of patriotism. Mathews was an Indian, a resident in Kuwait, and was one of the people credited with the safe airlift evacuation of about 1, 70,000 Indians from Kuwait during the 1990 invasion of Kuwait. Only celebrating the flag hoisting ceremony on 15th August and 26th January, posing for photos with the flag, and posting on social media doesn’t imply that you are a true patriot. A real patriot is a person who has a true love for his country. He fights against the atrocities upon his countrymen by insiders or outsiders of the country.

Patriotism is the most important thing for the development of a country. As patriots think about the country, its growth, and countrymen’s improvement, it positively impacts the development of the country. A sense of patriotism helps to reduce corruption and riots hence the country develops effectively.

Patriotism by Freedom Fighters

An essay on patriotism seems incomplete without the mention of freedom fighters. They are the hero of the times when we all wanted to get freedom. We all need freedom in economic, social, political, and cultural aspects. These were the people who did not give a second thought before offering complete sacrifice to stay in a free country.

While writing an essay on patriotism, we must remember that these freedom fighters gave us all the rights to roam outside our homes and enjoy happy moments. When every Indian was facing brutal behaviour of Britishers, these were the people who stepped out to head held high and gave us what we all wanted.

The need for revolution for Independence was felt all over India, and revolutionaries like Subhas Chandra Bose, Rani Laxmi Bai, Chander Shekhar Azad, and many more started their journey to get the country from the atrocities of Britishers. The stories of these heroes enlighten our path for patriotism.

Patriotism is a concept that does not have an unambiguous explanation, because each person perceives it according to the call of his own soul. For some, patriotism means constantly singing the anthem of one’s country, in our case – Ukraine, for others, it means using a large number of state symbols. Personally, I believe that patriotism is completely different. This is something that is brought up from a very young age, and the use of state symbols and constant singing of the national anthem are of no use here. When I was asked to express my own thoughts about patriotism and my own attitude to this word, I decided that it would be quite difficult, because I do not consider myself a patriot and it was not brought up in me. But everything turned out quite differently, so this essay will be aimed at ensuring that every reader finds himself in my statements and understands that patriotism may not be shown, but it is important to personally understand its meaning.

We live in a beautiful country – Ukraine, which is located in the very center of Europe. We are considered to be the largest European country, and in addition, we own wide forests and forests. We have an incredible climate, fertile land and the most hospitable people. I believe that Ukraine is our Motherland, where we were born, grew up, some even died here. We should love our country, which educates us, gives us knowledge and encourages us to new achievements. For me, patriotism is love for the Motherland. I was never a patriot of my country, because I did not go to rallies, I did not shout that I love my country, but personally for myself, for my inner peace, I understand and know this. We should be proud of the fact that we have all the amenities for a full life, because other countries do not have the same number of opportunities that our native Ukraine has.

The modern Ukrainian people are the people who can give Ukraine a remarkable future. We are ready to do everything possible so that we live in an even better country, which could have a huge number of new buildings, new laws and regulations. In my opinion, patriotism is present in every person who already has at least some thoughts, because from a very young age we are taught to love our country and be proud of being a citizen of our country. It just sometimes happens that patriotism is developed in different ways in different people, so some constantly show it, and some only internally believe in their cause and their attitude to the Motherland.

I believe that the main goal of our people is to create prosperity and help our country prosper more and more every day, and this will help maintain peace in Ukraine. Our duty is to defend the independence of our state and constantly help it develop in the right direction. Every citizen of our country must make a significant contribution in order to live in a European country and be proud of being Ukrainian.

I want to express my own opinion about: “What kind of person should be considered a patriot?”. In fact, this is again a rather ambiguous question, because someone considers it necessary to wear Ukrainian symbols all the time, and someone does not even mention that he is a patriot. To be honest, my opinion is quite simple, because for me, a patriot is a person who loves and is proud of his country, who does everything possible so that it and all the people of the country live in peace and harmony.

To be a patriot is to live for the betterment of the quality of life in one’s country, to serve it in every way we can, and to sacrifice one’s life for the sake of a peaceful sky if there is a need for it. I believe that some people are simply not able to cultivate patriotism in themselves, and therefore loudly shout that they do not like life in Ukraine. But the modern youth of our Motherland is trying to break this stereotype and is making a significant contribution to the future of our country. Elderly people are currently doing everything possible so that the next generations also nurture love for the Motherland in their hearts, because this is very necessary for the future of our country.

I believe that patriotism should be taught from childhood. For this, it is not necessary to constantly sing the national anthem, carry state symbols or loudly shout that you are a patriot. Being a patriot is fashionable and cool, because that’s how you can help your crane to flourish and develop in the right field of activity. Our country is very powerful, but few people know about it and do not notice its achievements. Currently, I consider myself quite a patriot, because I plan to build my luxurious future precisely in Ukraine, in the country where I was born, grew up and learned a lot of new things. Every person who considers himself a patriot must build his life where he feels safe, namely in the Motherland.

Some people say that life is better in Motherland. Others are sure that it is better to live abroad because there are more various opportunities. Who is right? Let’s look at the problem from different points of view.     Personally I choose to live in my Motherland. Why? Firstly, Motherland is the place where you were born. Motherland is your second home. Motherland is the place where you spend the best years of your life. Secondly, it is very hard to leave your Motherland because you are still going to miss it – your native city, the street and trees that you used to see out of your window every day… It is your «world». And you, yourself, are part of this world. Thirdly, you have a lot of close people, your parents, relatives and friends in Motherland. They all are always ready to help you and will never leave you in trouble. They will always love you, and in a foreign country you will have to do without them, and you will feel lonely.

 But some people believe that Motherland is not important for them. Such people believe that it is much better in other countries than in their Motherland. They think that in other countries they can achieve more. For them Motherland is only the place where they were born and nothing more.

 I do not agree with these people because Motherland is a very important part of our lives, and in the Motherland you can achieve anything you want. We should be proud of our Motherland, respect and love it, do our best to help it.

 In conclusion, I can say that life is the best in Motherland. Still it is my opinion and my choice. You may make your personal decision, but be sure not to make a mistake.

 Некоторые люди говорят, что лучше жить на Родине. Другие уверены, что лучше жить за границей, потому что там есть более разнообразные возможности. Кто прав? Давайте посмотрим на эту проблему с разных точек зрения.

 Лично я предпочитаю жить на Родине. Почему? Во — первых, Родина -это место, где вы родились. Родина —  ваш торой дом. Родина — это место, где вы проводите лучшие годы вашей жизни. Во — вторых, очень трудно оставить Родину, потому что вы будете скучать по родному городу, улице, деревьям, которые вы видели в свое окно каждый день. Это ваш мир. И вы сами являетесь частью этого мира. В — третьих, у вас есть много близких людей, ваших родителей, родственников и друзей на Родине. Все они готовы помочь вам и никогда не оставят вас в беде. Они всегда будут любить вас, а в чужой стране вам придется остаться без них, и вы будете чувствовать себя одиноко. 

 Но некоторые люди считают, что Родина неважна для них. Такие люди считают, что лучше жить в других странах, чем на Родине. Они думают, что в других странах смогут достичь большего. Для них Родина только место, где они родились, и не более того.

 Я не согласна с этими людьми, потому что Родина — это очень важная часть нашей жизни, и на Родине вы можете многого добиться, если вы этого захотите. Мы должны гордиться своей Родиной, любить ее и делать все возможное, чтобы помочь ей.

 В заключение могу сказать, что жизнь лучше на Родине. Все же это мое мнение и мой выбор. Вы можете сделать свой выбор, но будьте уверены, чтобы не ошибиться.

Патриотизм это чувство не только любви к своей Родине, но и способность встать на ее защиту в любое время. Человек любит всю жизнь те места, где он родился, свою улицу, свой поселок, свою страну. И если даже ему пришлось уехать из родного края, он все равно тоскует за своей Родиной.

Ведь живя во Франции или Испании, сразу многие радуются красоте, роскоши и изяществу архитектуры многих городов. Но через некоторое время они понимают, что здесь им нет места, так как они чужаки. И человек все больше тоскует и вспоминает свою Родину.

Многие писатели уехав в другие страны, писали в своих произведениях о том, что у них нет вдохновения и совсем не получается писать новые рассказы.

Большинство людей начинают понимать, что такое Родина благодаря ответственным родителям, которые воспитывают в них это чувство. Во время звучания гимна страны все стоят молча и торжественно, на больших праздниках, таких как день страны все радуются и славят свою Родину.

Даже во время школьной линейки, звучит гимн, и дети торжественно его слушают. Если упоминаются трагические события, сочувствуют всей страной. В этом и есть сила единства всего народа живущего в одной стране.

Патриотизм и вызван любовью к своей Родине, какой бы она не была, даже если и есть какие-то недочеты и недостатки, патриот об этом знает, но все это не мешает ему любить свою страну и отдать за нее жизнь.

Поэтому истинные патриоты даже если и уезжают на некоторое время жить в другие страны, то там они тоже любят только свою страну, соблюдают обычаи и хранят символы Родины, ведь по-другому просто нельзя поступить. И после возвращения домой человек радуется, ведь живя на чужбине, у него не возникало даже мыслей остаться здесь навсегда. Для него поменять свое гражданство, значит изменить своей Родине.

Быть патриотом это не только ценить все, что окружает с детства, но и ценить всех людей, живущих в этой стране. Да просто из-за того что это, твой город и твоя страна Россия!

Уже это слово звучит гордо, быть гражданином такой огромной страны, это честь и величие в единстве всего народа, этой огромной державы. Кроме различных политических и военных достижений, граждане страны следят за соревнованиями мирового масштаба.

Это различные чемпионаты мира, олимпиады, в которых спортсмены нашей страны соревнуются за звание лучшего спортсмена среди других стран. Мы получаем гордость за заработанные первые места, полученные золотые медали и вместе со спортсменами гордимся за нашу страну.

При проигрыше мы чувствуем, те же чувства как будто это мы играли и не смогли выиграть, одновременно отчаяние и обиду за свою страну.

Вот все чувства, поступки, переживания, чувства гордости и торжественности. Как при небольших праздниках, так и на больших масштабных событиях, выражают и показывают преданность своей стране до последнего вздоха!

А что значит быть патриотом? Для того чтобы понять, кто же такой патриот следует вспомнить о том, что же такое патриотизм. После этих слов было бы уместно заглянуть в словарь и посмотреть там определения данных понятий, но почему — то не хочется этого делать. Хочется говорить не от имени составителя словаря, а от имени простого русского народа. Хотя уже давно замечено, что наш народ при всей своей любви поругать своё государство, всё равно ни смотря, ни на что продолжает любить свою Родину. А что значит любить Родину? Это значит верить в лучшее будущее для своего народа, ведь без него не было бы ничего. Это значит чувствовать патриотизм, испытывать любовь в своей Родине и ставить ее интересы выше своих собственных, это желание сделать все возможное, чтобы сохранить ее саму, ее народ и ее культуру, желание защищать ее интересы и границы. Патриотизм не всегда был присущ человеческому сообществу, в первобытных общинах не было государств, но появлялись зачатки патриотизма в виде привязанности к своему племени, чувства родства и единения с ее членами, осознание себя как одного из них.

Любовь к Отечеству проявляется в том, что гражданин глубоко чтит окружающую его природу, имеет доброе отношение к согражданам, наконец, живёт во благо своей страны. Под патриотизмом, т.е политической любовью, понимается участие в делах государства, преданность своему народу и интересам своего дела. Героическая борьба, подвиги, талант лучших сынов Отечества — пример подражания .

Быть патриотом в наше время очень сложно, вокруг много соблазна — погоня за деньгами, приводящая к побегу из России. Быть патриотом — значит быть хозяином своей страны, а не гостем. В случае опасности суметь защитить ее, бережно обращаться с ее дарами”

Вместе с русской культурой национальные культуры народов России составляют неисчерпаемое духовное богатство нашей Родины. Например, жил в маленьком горном ауле Дагестана поэт Расул Гамзатов, аварец по национальности.

Особое значение в сплочении народов нашей страны играет великая Русская культура- язык, наука, литература, музыка, живопись, архитектура. Культурный человек любой национальности знает, ценит и любит Пушкина, Толстого, Чехова; он должен знать, кто такой М.Ломоносов, какую музыку написал Чайковский, какие картины – Репин или Суриков.
